Nearly 500 children are now signed-up to Bowles' Icebreaker Days at the end of the summer holidays.

They are for kids starting new secondary schools - we aim to help reduce anxiety and boost their confidence by running activities with their new schoolmates so they know some faces on their first few days.
We put them in groups with their classmates and run icebreaker activities in the morning and one of Bowles' classic activities like archery or rock climbing in the afternoon.
Feedback from parents and children over the past few years tells us that the days really help settle nerves before the big step up to secondary school.

We still have some places left on Saturday's Family Rock Climbing Course.
It runs 1.30-4.30pm and will give you the chance to climb on real rock under the supervision and guidance of our expert climbing instructors.
We'll provide all the equipment and if you want to learn more to go forwards and take up climbing, we can offer advice on what's available locally.
It's a great taster lesson and a good way to get everyone outside and active in the school holidays.
The afternoon costs £30 per person and can be booked here: https://bookwhen.com/bowles There are only 12 places in total, so don't miss out.

We know lots of children now know where they are going to be going to secondary school in September, so parents are starting to book Bowles' Icebreaker Days.
They run towards the end of the summer holidays and are designed to help children make some friends in advance of starting their new school.
This is our fifth year of running these days for local secondaries. The feedback we've had from parents and children is that their day helped reduce anxiety in the run-up to the new term, and in many cases introduced kids who can walk to school together, catch the same bus or be on the same train.
We organise them into groups based on their class, form or house and spend the morning icebreaking and the afternoon taking part in a personal challenge such as a ropes course, abseil or rock climbing.
We currently have days for ten schools - St Greg's, Beacon, Sackville, Judd, Weald, Bennett, TGS, Skinners, TWGGS and TWGSB. See dates and times and book your places here: https://bookwhen.com/bowles
