A big thank you to everyone who came along to our annual fundraising quiz last Saturday, 17th October! It was a fantastic evening, full of fun and a bit of friendly competition!

We’re so grateful to everyone who helped organise and run the quiz, and to all the teams who joined us on the night to support a great cause. A special thank you to everyone who gave so generously over and above the ticket price. Your support means so much to us! 💛

A special thank you also to St Matthew’s Church for welcoming us at short notice and allowing us to host the quiz there.

🏆 Congratulations to the St James’ Church team on taking the win! 🥄 And well done to the Tunbridge Wells Baptist Church Youth Group for taking home the wooden spoon!

It was wonderful to see so many people come together, and we’re already looking forward to doing it all again next year! 😊 In the meantime, if you’d like to support our mission, please consider donating here: https://tunbridgewells.yfc.co.uk/donate/

Thank you,

Last weekend, Lesley and Savanna led the youth programme at The Wells Church weekend away in Ashburnham, and had an amazing time!

It was a great opportunity to get to know one another, build friendships and explore what it means to stand firm in our faith, why it matters and how we can live it out in our everyday lives.

We looked at Elijah’s story in 1 Kings 19, where God met Elijah in his exhaustion and discouragement, reminding us that He is always present and gives us strength when we need it. We also explored John 15, where Jesus describes Himself as the vine and us as the branches, reminding us that staying connected to Him helps us grow and bear fruit.

The young people created a tree and added their fingerprints as a reminder of our weekend together and the importance of remaining rooted in Jesus as we continue to grow in our faith.

As mentioned in our previous post, last week we explored what it means to follow someone, taking inspiration from our window verse, Mark 8:34. ❤️✝️

To remind us of Jesus’ love for us, we created hearts and crosses out of air-dry clay. Some of our young people also got creative and made their own unique masterpieces, while still incorporating a heart or cross into their designs!

We loved seeing everyone’s creativity and the special meaning behind each creation. Here are just a few of their wonderful masterpieces! 🥰🎨

Last week at the Youth Centre, we spent some time thinking about what it means to follow someone or something. With the words of Jesus from Mark 8:34 displayed in the Youth Centre window - “Take up your cross and follow me” - we invited our young people to share what they think makes something worth following. Here are some of their answers.

🎨 Remember when we asked our young people to vote on a new colour for the youth centre bathroom?

Well, we may have got a little busy over the summer holidays, but we’ve finally got the job done - and here’s the result! 🙌

A huge thank you to Brewers (Tunbridge Wells) for kindly donating the paint, rollers and dust sheet, and another big thank you to Karen and Lesley for their hard work and artistic flair. 💛

We think it looks fantastic, but what do you think? 👀🎨

Could you spare a little time on a Monday afternoon to invest in the lives of young people? 💛 We’re looking for committed Christians to join our volunteer team at our Monday after-school drop-ins.

You don’t need to be an expert or have lots of experience. Sometimes the simplest things make the biggest difference - a friendly welcome, a cup of tea, a slice of cake, a conversation, or joining in with a board game.

It’s about being there, building relationships and helping create a warm, welcoming and safe space where young people feel valued and supported. Contact us if interested: [email protected]

Come and be part of what we’re doing — we’d love to have you on the team! 💛
