Half term starts next week, and it ends with chocolate. 🍫

Two things worth putting in the diary before they go back.

🍫 Saturday 31 October — a chocolate decorating workshop with Temper Temper at The Manor House. Thirty minutes, £10 a child, seven sessions from 10am with twenty places in each. All ingredients and sweets are nut-free, and there’s a dairy- and gelatine-free dark chocolate option. Advance booking only: twods-events.lovable.app

🎭 18–21 November — Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at the Assembly Hall Theatre. Matinees at 2pm every day, which is the one to book if yours are small. £25: twods.org/book-now

Theo Edwards — Charlie Bucket
Michael Jamieson-Smith — Grandpa Joe

Four grandparents, one bed, and not one of them out of it in twenty years. Then Charlie comes home with a golden ticket, and Grandpa Joe is on his feet!

It’s the relationship the whole story rests on — the boy who has nothing, and the old man who decides this is the thing worth getting up for.

If you haven't already, get your tickets for this fantastically funny and heartwarming show!

🍫 It's Chocolate time, and we may have gone slightly overboard.

A chocolate decorating workshop with Temper Temper on Saturday 31 October — and a musical about a chocolate factory three weeks after that.

The workshop: thirty minutes at The Manor House, £10 per child, seven sessions through the day with twenty places in each. They decorate their own chocolate disc, box it, take it home. Nut-free throughout.

The musical: 18–21 November at the Assembly Hall Theatre, and rather harder to fit into thirty minutes.
