Truro Street Pastors Truro Street Pastors care for, help, and listen to those those needing assistance in the City on a S Activities include but are not exclusive to:
1. We love it!

The Facebook Presence of Truro Street Pastors - Part of the Nationwide Street Pastor initiative who's strap-line is "Caring Listening and Helping". Providing drugs and alcohol-related first aid - spending whatever time it takes to sober folk up enough to access their mobiles and find them transport home to safety - thereby also reducing the call on the ambulance service in the process.
2. The supp

ort of rough sleepers.
3. Reuniting the vulnerable with friends and family.
4. Charging dead mobiles.
5. Arranging taxis
6. Listening to those with problems to share.
7. Helping to finding accommodation for those left stranded.
8. The work is also well known for the free issue of flip flops to the bare-footed, the distribution of free water and space blankets, ... and the offer of free carbs in the form of Maoam sweets!
9. We also remove potential opportiunist weapons such as bottles and broken glass. This all helps not only to meet a variety of needs, but also to diffuse aggression, prevent crime, and encourage an atmosphere of mutual help and support. Truro Street Pastors comprises approximately 50 well trained and experienced volunteers who provide a wide range of support services to those in need on the streets on a Saturday night. The street Teams are supported by a team of 'Prayer Pastors' at our base to whom all contacts and events are telephoned for prayer. We firmly believe that it is this prayer support that makes the work so successful. Our numbers are drawn from all walks of life: Delivery Drivers, Teachers, Registered Nurses, Pharmacists, A&E Consultants and Graphic Designers, Travel agents and Accountants to name a few - and those retired from such professions but with skills and experience still to offer. We are all on a journey with the folk we work alongside and seek to help. The work is based around a united wish to share practically the Christian belief in a God who is not above and beyond our human condition, but who is surprisingly active and involved in the cut and thrust of our ever-changing lives - as demonstrated in Jesus of Nazareth. As we go about our work, so others come alongside to help, and everyone is blessed in the process. One of our number describes that as the 'butterfly effect' another talks of grace (unconditional love) 'cascading'. Be a part of it! :-)
