This Sunday evening is the deadline for the MMO consultation on a seasonal closure of the crawfish fishery in area 7 - it is a no brainer that this closure should be continued. however this alone will not be enough to ensure that this fishery is sustainable and valuable for fishermen for decades to come. If you agree please email to say you support the closure and you demand better management for crawfish- an incredible opportunity for our environment and our fishing industry.
details on how to take part are here https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/a-consultation-on-a-seasonal-closure-of-the-crawfish-fishery-in-ices-area-7-english-waters-2025-2026 #:~:text=Summary,midnight%20on%2020%20July%202025.
