Active Plus Team Building, Confidence and Motivation, Leadership and Resilience training delivered by Veterans

Established in 2011 by ex-fireman and entrepreneur Tim C***s, Active Plus deliver Team Building, Confidence & Motivation, Resilience and Leadership training. Problem solving activities are used to:

Help young people engage more effectively with each other and their learning setting

Help unemployed people to unlock their potential and get work ready

Encourage older people to build friendships

and become active in their communities

Help businesses through motivational and development training for business leaders and their workforce. Instructors are military veterans, most of whom have physical injuries or experience Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. The veterans start their journey with Active Plus as volunteers, building their own confidence, motivation and skills through helping and inspiring others. Some go on to paid full or part-time employment with Active Plus, others go into jobs with other organisations or start their own businesses. For Active Plus, all of these outcomes are positive and demonstrate the effectiveness of our unique delivery model – Veterans Inspiring People.

A wonderful and sunny start to Armed Forces Week yesterday at New County Hall. Beautiful performances by the St Mawgan Military Wives Choir and an honour to see Cornwall Council renew their Armed Forces Covenant pledge.

It was an extra special event as our colleague Terrie Anne was performing alongside spouses, partners from St Mawgan and Culdrose.

Active Plus will be attending the Armed Forces Day event on Saturday 20th June in St Austell. See below for the full details.

We hope to see you there!

Cornwall’s Armed Forces Day celebrations, led by the Royal British Legion, will take place in St Austell town centre on Saturday, June 20 from 9am to 4pm.

The day will include a military parade featuring members of Cornwall's Armed Forces, Cadet Forces and veterans, setting off from Biddicks Court at 11am.

There will also be a military village, displays and entertainment at White River Place.

Last week Active Plus Connecting Communities team joined Jack from the The South West Coast Path Coastal Connectors for a lovely walk from Hells Mouth to Godrevy and back. The route took in wonderful scenery and wildlife, providing an instant boost to the group’s overall wellbeing.

For some participants, it was the furthest distance they had ever walked, while for another, it marked their first time getting out and about in quite a while. It was wonderful to see the group interacting with wider members of the community and, despite tired feet at the end, everyone felt a real sense of achievement in completing the walk.

Connecting Communities is excited to be joining the Murdoch Day celebrations this Saturday, one of Redruth’s biggest annual events!
