Funding Opportunity for Cornwall & the Isles of Scilly!

Community groups, charities and grassroots organisations can now apply for a share of £150,000 through the new ‘Building Community’ Fund from our friends at Duchy Health Charity. The fund will support projects that strengthen social connections, reduce loneliness and help build more resilient communities.

Grants of up to £25,000 are available for constituted organisations, with up to £10,000 for informal groups. Applications are open now, with Expressions of Interest closing on 22 November 2026.

Building Community Connections 👷‍♂️🛠

Tomorrow morning, Tue 13 Oct, Zara from our Community Outreach team will be at MKM Redruth spreading the word about the mental health support we offer.

We know that reaching out isn't easy, so we're committed to starting conversations out in the community, particularly for men in trades.

This Saturday, we'll be joined by the one and only DC Sax who never fails to bring his upbeat energy to the hotel.

Welcome to the CHAOS family, Raj, exciting times ahead!

By popular demand, food is officially back on the menu. ​With the summer season behind us, we’re delighted to welcome our fantastic new chef, a face some of you may already recognise!

For now, we’re easing in gently! Many of you will know our usual setup, we’ve always loved having you bring your own food or local takeaways in to enjoy with a drink from the bar. Well, nothing really changes there, except now you can grab your takeaway straight from our kitchen! Pop in for a drink and tuck in street-food style right here, or take your tea home to enjoy on the sofa. As soon as we find our rhythm, the dining room will open its doors.

​Raj brings a genuine passion for authentic cooking with a gentle, thoughtful touch. Expect wonderfully comforting curries, fragrant rice, and a tasty fusion of Nepalese street food. Warming, full of flavour, and easy to enjoy whether you love a little kick or prefer things mild and mellow.

Keep your eyes peeled for our launch date, we can’t wait for you to connect with Raj at The Roc and taste what he’s cooking!

Earlier this year, we hosted a Community Radio Day simul-cast (simultaneous broadcast!) across CHAOS Radio, Source FM, Coast FM, Islands FM, and CHBN - all fantastic stations who are part of our Cornwall Community Media Network.

Our partnerships at CHAOS are all about celebrating and uplifting the work of those around us, so we're delighted to be shortlisted for 'Celebrating and Championing Community Radio of the Year'.

Through our Food Hub, we’re tackling food waste head-on by getting surplus food out to individuals, families, and communities across Cornwall. But the real heartbeat of this loop starts out on the land at CHAOS Farm.

Our farm team doesn't just do the heavy lifting to rescue surplus food, they’re in the polytunnels and fields growing fresh produce from the ground up, strengthening true food resilience across the county.

From soil to surplus, every single item we grow and rescue makes a genuine difference to our communities and our planet. 💚

Constructive conversations 🛠👷‍♂️
This week, our People in Mind team had a brilliant time at Travis Perkins © in Truro.

Men's mental health matters and we know that reaching out for support isn't always easy. That's why we're committed to taking support into the community and starting conversations where people feel comfortable.

We had some fantastic discussions with customers throughout the day and were pleased to share information about the support available through CHAOS.

Last night was pure magic at the Proud to Care Awards. Room packed, energy high, and an overwhelming sense of gratitude for the people who hold our communities together across every corner of the Duchy.

Of course, the reality of care doesn’t stop for a celebration. While awards were being handed out and glasses raised, so many of you were out on night rounds, covering essential shifts, or simply tucked up resting after a long week of giving your all.

You weren’t forgotten for a second.
