Over the past 18 months, I've been one of around 130 women photographers from across the UK, capturing individual portraits of MPs from the four nations for the Women in Photography's 40% Project.

We are now in the final week of our Kickstarter campaign to bring the photobook 40%: Inspiring Women MPs Photographed by Women to print. Published by Image & Reality!

Around 130 women photographers have created an extraordinary body of work and a unique historical record marking the first time women have made up more than 40% of MPs in the House of Commons.

And I’m one of them!

I had the pleasure of photographing the two women MPs for Cornwall and as part of the project, led by the irrepressible

Now we have a live to fund a book to mark this photographic and political feat.

Once published, a copy of the book will be deposited with the and preserved as part of the national published record, allowing future generations to discover the women, photographs and stories behind this important moment in our history.

It’s almost a year since I first became involved with the RPS Women in Photography 40% Project.

It began with a simple but powerful idea: to mark a moment in British history through the eyes of women photographers.

It's now a celebration of the 265 remarkable women who currently make up forty percent of the UK Parliament with portraits of them by those women photographers.

The project’s Kickstarter has launched today!

And that's my London weekend done!

Headed to for a workshop thanks to a bursary from and the expertise of

Huge thanks to .photography for pairing up and being super at colldion pouring and to all others on the course (and support staff) for a fun time.

How it can fit into my practice I’m not sure yet but it's always great to be in a studio and darkroom, and to see how others get excited about photography.

Perhaps with Cornish tin…🤔
