According to the United Nations the fashion industry alone produces around 92 million tons of textile waste every year. This massive amount of waste has a significant impact on the environment, contributing to pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. In late 2021, Cultivate Communities CIC formed TeX Innovation, partnered with the University of Exeter and Upcycle Kernow CIC. TeX Innovation successf

ully delivered a one year project funded by The National Lottery Climate Fund to stimulate the growth of circular economy at both community and business levels with the county. Now, in 2023 we are continuing to grow our services and business support programmes. Our comprehensive and innovative approach has seen us secure Innovate UK funding and come second for the circular economy award at Cornwall’s Sustainability Awards.
