We would like to thank all those that took part in the Malpas Road Community Survey, your views are important and may help us work with you to shape the delivery in your community. If you did not take part, don’t worry, you have a chance to share your thoughts at a ‘drop in’ consultation event at the community centre, more on that later. If you did complete the survey please still come, you will have the chance to add more thoughts at the consultation and find out more about a Malpas Road Community Group.

What came across the most in the survey was many residents were not aware of what happens at the community centre, only 7% of residents that completed the survey said they used the centre with the main reason being they weren’t aware of what activities took place. We appreciate you telling us this and we are now going to work with partners to develop ways to communicate with residents better, this could be by using the newly installed noticeboard at the bottom of Pendeen Road and more direct engagement. We were also given ideas of activities that you would like to see happen and we want to discuss this further with you at consultation meetings.

An important question in the survey, and which will hopefully be a part of change in the area was when residents were asked if they were interested in finding out more about joining a Malpas Road Community Group to discuss and have a say on local community matters. 14 people said they were interested finding out more and 25 said they were ‘maybe’ interested; only 8 out of 47 responded that they were not interested. We are pleased with this response as it shows a willing of residents to have their voices heard which may lead to community led change in the area. To that end we are holding a ‘drop in’ type event on:

Thursday 20th November from 5pm – 8pm, Malpas Road Community Centre, Polruan Road, TR1 1QR

This is a drop in event so come when you are able.

Kindest regards
