MEET THE TEAM MONDAY๐
This week we are introducing Annie Zander
๐Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Officer - 2 months in!
I grew up in Germany and moved to Cornwall 10 years ago. My love for sports and the outdoors goes back to my childhood, from hiking the Alps with my parents and playing football as a teen, to road cycling, kitesurfing, and wakeboarding today. In my spare time, I enjoy gardening and baking sourdough. I'm also a self-confessed coffee snob and will struggle in the morning without it. I am currently learning the game myself - so bear with me.
I support and advise Cornish clubs on all things EDI. Whether you want to make your website's imagery and language more inclusive, upgrade your facilities, or better engage with your local community as a whole - Iโd love to hear from you! Iโll also be sending out surveys to understand your main challenges so we can support you better and shape the future of cricket in Cornwall. Alongside this, Iโm connecting with key inclusion networks, listening first to what makes people feel safe and welcome, so I can better advise our clubs on how to support them.
The role combines my professional background with my personal passions. Having spent nearly 10 years as a Marketing & Communications Manager at a Cornish software company, I love using those communications and people skills to advocate for a positive change. The best part is the human side: listening to people's backgrounds and helping build an environment where everyone feels safe and unjudged, especially when trying something new.
To break down barriers and build a culture where everyone in Cornwall feels they truly belong in cricket, whether theyโre playing on the pitch, volunteering, or watching from the sidelines.
