Prime Minister Andy Burnham has announced plans to work toward ending rough sleeping by Christmas. We are pleased to play our part in this work here in Cornwall. It is encouraging to see a clear national focus on such an important issue, and we hope this momentum leads to lasting change for people experiencing homelessness.

In response to the announcement, our Chief Executive, Henry Meacock, shared:

“This is a significant step towards a national drive to end rough sleeping across the country. We welcome the principle of bringing people facing rough sleeping inside for the coldest months of the year, when the risk to the lives of our clients is the highest.

At this stage, we are awaiting the details on how the measures will be put into practice for the future, and what this might mean for our work across Cornwall.”

UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham has pledged accommodation for all rough sleepers in England this winter.

Sophie is one of our runners for the Eden Half Marathon, hoping to raise vital funds to help end homelessness in Cornwall - and she's even hosting a run club on 25th August with Team St Petrocs.

St Petrocs have now received the keys to new homes in Nansledan, delivered in collaboration with the Duchy of Cornwall and The Duke of Cornwall's Charitable Foundation and built by CG Fry & Son.

This scheme will provide St Petrocs with high-quality accommodation for 24 people, where they will provide wraparound support for people facing homelessness. These houses will soon welcome new residents, providing a stable foundation for individuals to rebuild their lives for the future.

Earlier this month, Richard generously hosted our Summer Thank You Event at the manor, and we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful setting. It was a pleasure working with him, and his generosity helped make the day such a success 💛

Can you help us restock our deodorant and toiletries? 🧴

In our resource centres, people experiencing homelessness can access showers and items to support their dignity. Often, when someone comes to our services, they can only carry a few belongings with them — which makes providing access to basics like toiletries especially important 💛

We're especially in need of:

🧴 Shampoo & conditioner

💨 Spray deodorant
