One of our area’s best kept secrets is out in open thanks to Cormac who’ve today put up new signage to Threemilestone Angling Club from the Northern Access Rd at Langarth.
All the highways work disruption has meant a drop off in membership so now the Trustees of the Club are keen to attract new members.
If you’ve not been down to the fishing lakes I suggest going and having a look. It’s a beautiful hidden away oasis of calm.

🛴 E-Scooter Trial Coming to Truro - and Threemilestone.

From 18 June 2026, rental e-scooters will be operating in Truro as part of a Department for Transport-approved trial, alongside schemes in Falmouth & Penryn, Newquay and Penzance.

The area includes Threemilestone in our patch and the Park & Ride.

The trial will allow rental e-scooters to be used on roads, cycle lanes and shared-use paths wherever pedal cycles are permitted (but not on pavements!).

Supporters say e-scooters could provide a low-carbon travel option, reduce congestion and make short journeys easier. Others may have concerns about safety, accessibility or how the scheme affects pedestrians and other road users.

Cornwall Council is asking residents to experience the trial before commenting. Feedback can be submitted until 1 January 2027.

Whether you support the scheme or have concerns, this is your opportunity to have your say.

To take part in the consultation, visit Cornwall Council's Let's Talk website or email [email protected].

What do you think? Will e-scooters be a positive addition to Truro?

Cornwall Council (Cormac) have just completed a condition survey of all their play parks in Cornwall.
Any play equipment that needs replacing or significant repair is being removed, permanently.
In our area at Leap Play Area on Glenthorne Road, Threemilestone, at great little park, two pieces of play equipment are going.
Luckily for us Kenwyn Parish Council have stepped in and are looking at taking ownership of the area, replacing those pieces of play equipment & very probably buying new equipment so families can keep enjoying the space.
This is yet another example of the creeping societal ‘death by a thousand cuts’ caused by budget constraints.

Just an update on info I've received today on my video in the post below.
One in five pupils on roll in state funded schools in Cornwall have recorded SEN (either SEN Support or an EHCP).

SEN = Special Educational Needs.
EHCP =Individual Education Health & Care Plan.

Let that sink in ...one in every five children at school.

I’ve posted this video, which is more than 12 minutes long 😬 because I have concerns elected Cornwall Councillors are going along with a populist narrative that could negatively impact Cornish children’s wellbeing.
Sometimes we need to take a step back and ask uncomfortable questions to get to the right decisions.

I think it's important we (Cornwall Councillors) ask how long the Council's Enforcement Team have known about this and what, if any attempt has been made to prosecute anyone in the last 20 years.

I asked the Leader of the Council what was the reason for the (now 6 month) delay in building a 3G Community Pitch at Truro Sports hub, and who is responsible? Today I heard back from him..
Dear Dulcie The delay in the start date of the Truro Sports Hub project primarily relates to changes in the approach to appointing the pitch operator.

Following approval of the original business plan, Cornwall Council initially moved away from the proposed single-operator model under which Truro City Football Club would have been appointed and instead looked to pursue an open tender process. This change was driven by advice from the Council’s commercial team, who raised concerns regarding compliance with procurement regulations. As a result, the project timeline was impacted. The Football Foundation, as a key funder, requires confirmation of the operator before allowing construction to commence and therefore construction could not proceed in parallel with the operator procurement process as originally planned.

The Council has since revisited this position and returned to a single supplier approach. However, the time taken to review the procurement strategy and align with funder requirements has contributed to the delay in progressing the project on site.

In summary, the delay has arisen from the need to ensure procurement compliance and to satisfy Football Foundation requirements, alongside subsequent changes in approach to operator appointment. However current discussions with the Football Foundation have been both supportive and pragmatic and indicate potential for some recovery of programme.
Cllr. Leigh Frost - Leader Cornwall Council.

So here's my response considering I knew much of this already. Only because the info was 'leaked' to me not in response to my repeated questions. Council Officers & Consultants mismanaged the project. At best we can say one department didn't communicate with another, something that happens a lot at CC. The consequence of their mismanagement meant we almost lost £757k of funding from the Football Foundation and the delay means none of the local teams will be able to play on the pitch until October at the earliest. No-one will ever be held responsible because Civil Servants can c**k up as much as they like while we pay their wages. Surprisingly, over this whole saga, it’s been easier engaging with Truro City FC owners and management than is has with Council Officers and hired consultants who constantly put barriers in the way of delivering a great facility for local football clubs.

What have I learnt? what I already knew... that the Council’s good at applying for outside funding - it’s not good at delivering the projects the funding pays for!

I've thanked Cllr. Frost for following up on this for me and said I may come back to him nearer completion of the pitch, as I anticipate there may be further discussions needed around adherence to the agreed pitch usage arrangements.

I'll be keeping a very close eye on this matter going forwards.

I was back on a return visit to Penstraze Lane today with a whole bunch of highway Officers looking at the art of the possible to try and make this stretch of road leading off or on to the new big Chivvy interchange safer.
I’ll keep you updated.
One interesting thing that came out of the meeting were issues where Highways Englands (the govts road builder) work on the A30 dualling etc has fallen short of what was originally planned leading to serious issues.
I’m told Cornwall Council aren’t satisfied with aspects of the project which is interesting because Highways England officially ‘signs off’ the scheme with the Council in the Autumn.
