18th Truro Sea Scouts, Cubs and Beavers Welcome to the public page for 18th Truro (St Georges) Sea Scouts, Cubs and Beavers Life is about grabbing opportunities.

18th Truro (St George's) Sea Scout Group
‘Every child has the right to an adventure. The prizes don’t always go to the biggest, the best and the strongest – they go to those who persevere. These are simple life lessons that Scouting teaches.’ Bear Grylls – Chief Scout
Scouting offers challenge and adventure to 400,000 young people and 100,000 adults across the UK. We do some pretty amazing things

in Scouting, but for us, adventure is a way of life and not just an activity or expedition. Our Scouts grow in confidence by trying out new skills and stretching themselves. Challenges
Whether it’s the youngest Beaver trying their first sleep-over or an Explorer trying out the local language on an international expedition, each time we challenge ourselves, it’s a step forward. When a Scout stands up to a bully, or sticks up for what they believe in; that’s an adventure. If you have any queries for specific sections please contact the following emails:

A special skywatching treat for our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts!
We hope all our young people enjoy watching the partial eclipse on Wednesday. It’s a fantastic opportunity to look up and see something amazing!

Please remember to stay safe: never look directly at the Sun without proper solar eclipse viewing glasses. Alternatively, you can safely watch the eclipse by making a pinhole camera/projector.

Enjoy the eclipse, and happy skywatching!

On Wednesday, the UK will be treated to a partial solar eclipse. ☀️ 🌑 🌍

Starting at 6:13 pm UK time, maximum eclipse will occur at 7.10pm, with around 90-96% of the Sun being obscured. The eclipse will end at 8:03pm.

Be sure to use speciality glasses to safely watch it. 🕶️

A massive thank you to all of our leaders who gave their time to make our Group Camp such a success. Whether you were there for the whole week, stayed around work and family commitments, or popped in to help run activities, every contribution made a huge difference.

A special thank you goes to Akela for being there from the very beginning right through to the end of the week. Without the dedication and generosity of our volunteers, events like this simply wouldn't be possible.

A huge well done to all of our young people too – they were absolutely amazing all week. They threw themselves into every activity, supported one another, and were a credit to the group. We hope they're all having an early night... they certainly earned it and should sleep well after such a busy week!

Our leader team is now going to take a well-earned rest before we start planning our next adventure! Over the coming days, we'll also sort through the lost property.

We are currently missing:

- A small GoPro-style camera in a waterproof case.
- A penknife, which may have been picked up by accident.
If you happen to find either of these while unpacking, please let us know.

We'll also be gathering all of the camp photos together (and hopefully locating the missing camera!) before sharing them with you. We can't wait to relive all the fantastic memories from an amazing week!
