Dear Carers,

It is with very heavy hearts that we are writing to let you know that Carer Support Wiltshire has now closed.

This is not the outcome any of us wanted, and we know how upsetting and unsettling this news may be. As a staff team, we want you to understand how deeply sad we are that our journey together has come to an end.

Working with unpaid carers has been a privilege. Every day, we saw the love, commitment, and quiet strength you bring to caring roles that are often unseen and unsupported. Many of you juggled caring with work, family, health challenges, and exhaustion and still showed up with compassion and determination. You inspired us more than you may ever realise.

Thank you for trusting Carer Support Wiltshire to be part of your lives. Thank you for sharing your stories, your worries, your hopes, and sometimes your tears. The connections we have made with you will stay with us long after the charity has closed.
We know how important it is that carers continue to have someone to turn to.

While Carer Support Wiltshire is no longer able to provide support, the following organisations may be able to help:
Cares Together Wiltshire 01380 710300
Help and Care (Dorset) 0300 111 3303

We are incredibly proud of what Carer Support Wiltshire has stood for, but even more proud of the carers we have met along the way. The charity may be ending, but the value of unpaid carers and the importance of recognising and supporting you remains as vital as ever.

We truly hope that you continue to find understanding, support, and kindness in the future, and that you remember how much your caring role matters.

With our deepest thanks and very best wishes,
From all at Carer Support Wiltshire

“I can only say you have been a lifeline to me and thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the help, support and reassurance you have provided for me caring for my husband over the last few years. Life would have been very much more difficult without you.”

It’s messages like this that remind us why supporting carers matters so much.

Thank you to everyone who has trusted us, reached out, and allowed us to support you. Your words and experiences mean more than we can put into words.

We’re so grateful for all the kind messages and support we’ve received.

One message really stood out:

“So sorry to read this. Would like to say a huge thank you to you all. All the events, support and guidance has been provided with such thoughtfulness, encouragement and I’m so grateful to you all.”

It’s moments like these that remind us why supporting carers is so important. Every conversation, every event, every bit of guidance is about recognising the incredible work carers do, often quietly and without recognition.

Thank you to everyone who has trusted us, joined our events, and allowed us to support you along the way. Your gratitude and stories mean the world.

After our recent announcement that we will be closing, we are truly overwhelmed and incredibly grateful for all of your kind messages and support.

We wanted to share this message, which reflects so much of what has been shared with us:

“Your team helped me at such a terrible time when my mum was so unwell and falling between the cracks in social and health care during Covid. I was trying to hold everything together, working, caring, and being a mum to two young children, and the situation quite literally broke me.

But your team heard my desperation and isolation. You were the only ones who truly supported me and my mum during such a horrible time. I will forever remember the kindness, the recognition of how hard being a carer is, and the quiet support you gave us both.”

Thank you to every single person who has supported us, worked with us, and trusted us over the years. Your words mean more than we can express 💙
