Hello everyone!
Today in the woods, our group wrapped up another successful session up in the woodlands of Treherbert. It was a warm yet fantastic day in the wilderness! We had the pleasure of meeting the wonderful Becci from Grow Rhondda, who shared their exciting plans for a new nature trail in Blaenrhondda and the opportunities it may bring.
Today we celebrate Steven on his journey towards retiring, who has helped us towards self-reliance and been an essential part of our team. We wish you all the best in the years to come but hope you come back to tell us how it's going! To celebrate we enjoyed a delicious meal of vegetable soup and hot dogs (including vegan and gluten free options) which were so delicious (as it always is).
A creative twist was added to our gathering with a mindful poetry session. Morwenna guided us through some breathing exercises while Leo read Hafiz's beautiful poem, 'Beauty is a Waving Tree.'
David also proposed a wonderful idea, to collect and share poetry over time, aiming to engage our community with it, so if you come along bring some words of wisdom you may want to add.
As always, the inviting social atmosphere was delightful.
A huge thank you to Keith, Nigel, Steven and Margret for chopping the vegetables and to Alyx who got our fire going and Nigel for manning the Kelly kettles. Our hunger and thirst are truly quenched thanks to them and Dan. Special thanks to those who contributed to shopping and helping prepare our delicious meal, which as always includes Neil Williams at the vegetable stall in Treorchy! Donations are always appreciated!
Overall an absolute pleasure of a session. The session felt like a warm hug and a blast from the past. May we have more like this in the future.
Don't be scared to come along anytime. New or regular members are always welcome! Let’s keep the positivity flowing and step forward on our journey towards self-reliance together.
Stay wild, stay connected, and keep those spirits high!
