After receiving advice from the local council and highways, I am standing the unit down tonight for cadets and staff safety, as I don’t want people driving or walking to sqn in dangerous conditions. We will reopen Thursday at 19:00.

As with every year it’s a privilege to call myself the OC of this unit but today was a new highlight for me. The cadets and staff once again out did themselves showing what a small town sqn can do for the community. As a last minute issue arose we were left band less, so our own Cadet Harrison stepped forward and said “I’ll do it sir” and what a job he did keeping the whole town in time all by himself. Well done Cadet that must have been daunting and yet you smashed it.
Along with that our wreath layers were very smart with excellent drills, and our standard was flown with pride by Cpl Webb who leaves us soon to take on a two year excursion to the Czech Republic 🇨🇿.

As OC you have given not only me but every member of staff a massive amount of pride in you all well done.

This past weekend saw cadets from Typhoons Hq join cadets from all around no 1 Welsh wing to take part in the annual Wing Activity Day but they were hard at work on their projects and came away with second place in the robotics competition and a very competitive entry in the rocketry. Well done everyone you did the sqn and Town proud.

This weekend saw Tredegar Towns 1940’s day at Bedwelty park, with a service marking the 85th commemoration of the Battle of Britain. The cadets and staff ran traditional games such as ring toss and tin can alley, as well as taking part in the singing and dancing thank you to all involved and we hope to see you all next year 👍😀

Thank yous go out to our brothers and sisters from 415 and 275 sqn for joining us in the fun of the day.
