And they will be visiting regularly so please watch your speed

On Thursday 30th April, School Link Police Officer, PC Hutchison conducted a speed check outside Macmerry Primary School, during school entrance times.

9 motorists were stopped and warned regarding their speed during this check.

Police Scotland are committed to protecting vulnerable road users and further speed checks are planned outside other primary schools.

Police would like to remind motorists to adhere to the relevant speed limits, especially near school buildings.

If you didn't attend the defibrillator training last week because you are already first aid/defibrillator trained could you please let us know via community council messenger?

Temporary Road Closure - Whiteloch Road, Macmerry - Carriageway Resurfacing

East Lothian Council will be undertaking carriageway resurfacing works on Whiteloch Road, Macmerry, commencing Monday 19th January 2026, for approximately three weeks, weather permitting.

To minimise disruption, the works will be carried out in two phases:

Phase One: Westbank Road to the junction at Property No. 23
Phase Two: Westbank Road to the junction at Property No. 18

To ensure the safety of both road workers and road users, and in compliance with Health & Safety requirements, Whiteloch Road will be closed to vehicular traffic from Monday to Friday, following the phased schedule above. No parking will be permitted on the affected sections during working hours. Emergency and pedestrian access will be maintained at all times, and vehicular access will be restored outside working hours where practicable.

Advance notice of restrictions will be provided via yellow information signs and no waiting cones.

Refuse and recycling collections will be undertaken where practical. Residents have been asked to ensure their bins and boxes are presented by 7:00am on collection days.
