In our Early Years, sensory messy play is an important part of how children learn, explore and develop. From squishing foam and splashing in water to digging in sand and jumping in muddy puddles, these hands-on experiences encourage curiosity, creativity and confidence while supporting children's communication, physical development and wellbeing. Most importantly, they provide endless opportunities for fun, discovery and learning through play. ✨

Today's rainy weather created the perfect conditions for muddy puddle adventures! 🌧 The children enjoyed splashing, scooping and exploring outdoors, turning a rainy day into a fun learning experience. Sometimes the best learning happens when we follow the children's interests—and embrace a little mud along the way! ☔✨

🌿 Outdoor Learning 📚

In Early Years, we encourage children to reflect on their learning through meaningful indoor and outdoor experiences. The last week or so, the children enjoyed reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar indoors before taking their learning outside to create a story timeline using chalk. This activity supported their mark-making, communication, creativity and recall skills through fun, play-based learning. 🐛✨

Our new book area gives children the chance to choose a book to take home, share with their families, and bring back when they are ready to pick another one.
