And that's a wrap!!

It's been an honour to have served Towcester as it's Mayor over the last year and I thank everyone for their support throughout my term.
I am delighted that my charity Towcester NMPAT is in a strong position to continue to offer the young people of Towcester and the surrounding villages, the opportunity to experience the joy of music and performing.
Please don't forget their open day is on Wednesday 20th May. Drop along from 4.30pm if you have a budding musician, singer or performer at home.

I wish the new Mayor Cllr. Maggie Clubley a successful and enjoyable year ahead.

A few week's back, I caught up with the Paulersputy Players who were busy rehearsing for their upcoming production of Aladdin.

It is always an enjoyable experience meeting local groups and this, not so amateur, drama company was no exception.

I was amazed to discover that this group started back in 1988!!
It has since then drawn its members from further afield than the parish in which it began and the energy and enthusiasm of this group of perfomers is contagious.

I am so looking forward to the performance.

ANNOUNCEMENT

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Councillor Peter Allen, who dedicated more than 40 years of service to our community. Peter was a pillar of integrity and compassion, whose tireless efforts have left an indelible mark on our town and its residents.

Throughout Peter's time as Town Councillor, he advocated for numerous initiatives to enhance the quality of life for all residents. He was not only a community champion but also a friend to many, always approachable and willing to listen to the concerns of people, and will be fondly remembered for his warmth and generosity.

Arrangements for family, friends, and community members, to celebrate his remarkable life will be announced in due course.

We extend our deepest condolences to Peter's family and loved ones during this difficult time. Let us come together to honour his memory and continue the good work that he supported.

What a fantastic first performance of Strictly Towcester this afternoon!!

If you have tickets for tonight's performance, you'll be in for a real treat. Simply superb dancing from both the adult and children performers. 💃🕺😍

Strictly Kids are raising money for The Lighthouse Centre in Northampton; a wonderful local charity that offers complementary therapies to those needing palliative care in Northampton.

Any donation, however small, will be gratefully received and will help all the young performers smash their target.

Over a period of 7 weeks, children will learn 2 dances to perform to an audience, to raise money for The Lighthouse Centre.

It was so much fun today watching the dress rehearsal for Strictly Towcester, which is returning again this year with 2 performances on Saturday 1st November.

I also got to see the dress rehearsal of the 15 wonderful students from primary schools in Towcester and surrounding villages who are also taking part in Strictly Towcester. Over a period of 7 weeks, they have learnt 2 dances to perform and have worked so hard to learn the steps. They are doing this to help fundraise for The Lighthouse Centre.

The Lighthouse Centre offer palliative care in Northampton to help Cancer patients manage pain, Parkinson’s sufferers find ease and those with anxiety to find calm.

So, please donate whatever you can to help them raise as much as possible for a great cause. 🙏

This important music school has been instrumental (excuse the pun) in launching the love of music for local children, including my own, and many have gone on to continue their musical education in schools, and even careers in music.

The next meeting of Towcester Town Council will take place at 7:30pm on Monday 15th September at Towcester Town Hall and will include a cheque presentation of fundraising from Towcester MidSummer Music Festival to Towcester NMPAT and participants in this year's music festival.
