We have lots of new members and followers so here is a reminder of our Larder service!
Wednesday 4.15-7pm (Cafe opens at 3.30pm)
Thursday 10-11.15am (Cafe opens at 8.45am)
Riverside Resource Centre, Islington Road, Towcester, NN12 6AU.
You can attend one Larder session per week (our members are welcome to use Roade Larder if you can’t make our session for any reason).
New members welcome. Complete the sign up form on our website www.towfood.org.uk and then pop along to a session to do a trial shop and/or complete your membership. A volunteer will show you around and explain how the point system works.
💰 £15 annual membership.
💰 £6 for 10 points / £12 for 22 points.
💰 Or why not pay monthly to save even more money £20 for 10 points / £40 for 22 points.
We pay for the food we have from Fareshare which is why we charge a membership and weekly fee to use the Larder. This gives us significant quantities and can offer discounted provisions to all our members.
Fruit and vegetables are also paid for however we give these out for free to our members to encourage healthier lifestyles. We sometimes need to restrict these to ensure fair distribution (Priority for this stock goes to members that attend (or receive deliveries).
We also purchase store cupboard stock from Aldi and Tesco to give a comprehensive food provision. If your main reason for using the Larder is to stop food from waste, focus on the perishable foods we offer.
We operate a token queuing system (If you leave the cafe area for more than 5 minutes, you go to the end of the queue). Enjoy a cuppa and free WiFi while you wait! ☕️ The queue moves quickly so don’t be put off by what number you are. And we re-stock throughout the session so everyone gets fair provisions.
Dates and quantities of the food we receive determine availability, points and sometimes restrictions.
We sometimes do pop up sessions that are open to everyone, and not just members, so keep an eye of facebook for these!
