We’re a small, friendly lodge with a big heart. Our members span a wide range of ages and backgrounds, with many working family men, mostly from the Southampton area, though some travel from further afield to join us. So, whether you live in Totton, Hampshire, or beyond, you’re warmly invited to become part of our friendly community. Founded in 1950, we’ve recently celebrated our 75th anniversary with pride. While much has changed since our early days, the core values of Friendship, Integrity, Respect and Service still remain strong. Our evenings follow a structured agenda, similar to other organisations. As a progressive lodge, we encourage personal growth and development at a pace that suits each member. Our meetings also include ritual work (learning some lines, much like in a play), which many find both rewarding and enjoyable. Charity is at the heart of what we do, both individually and as a group. We have a lot of fun volunteering, raising funds and organising social events, including meals out, day trips, and gatherings where partners are welcome. One of our highlights is the formal partners’ dinner, where we celebrate the important role our loved ones play in Freemasonry. Joining William Rufus Lodge means becoming part of a supportive team of like-minded individuals who enjoy coming together—formally and informally—to make a positive impact in life, and have fun along the way.
