Young Dartington

Young Dartington Children's summer holiday camp Each child chooses their five favourite activities from those on offer to fill their week.

Young Dartington is an outdoor activity and crafts camp for children aged 8-14, held in Dartington, Devon, for the first two weeks of the summer holiday. Those who stay to camp overnight can relax with friends, play games, go swimming, join in waterfights (or avoid them) tell stories, go for night walks, make their own pizza and enjoy hot chocolate and marshmallows around the camp fire.

Week 1 of Young Dartington was awesome we all had a great time even in the pouring rain. We did bush craft, rock climbing, Adventure, quest games, pottery, mosaics, underground challenge, camping, climbed trees and much, much more and we have a whole other week left :)

Asher - I am a young man living in Bristol and working as a chef. I have a huge amount of love for everything that YD brings to a young person's summer holiday, i am a testament to this, as i haven’t missed a year since i was 9. I’m 23 now. I am grateful to be a part of the list of attendees who never left. What an inspiring team of people. Young Dartington has never failed to bring me joy, silliness, creativity, and endless laughing

This year will be my 11th year at Young Dartington. YD gave me a sense of freedom that I had nowhere else – we were allowed to roam and climb and make things with an autonomy that kids are just not allowed to have these days in schools or normal clubs – all with some of my best friends who came back year after year with me. I now work as an activity leader in the hope that I will give everyone that comes that freedom too.

I'm driving around Devon distributing brochures for this year's Young Dartington and it's already making me feel excited about this summer. Young Dartington is a children’s holiday camp for 8-14 year old's that runs for the first 2 weeks of the summer holidays in the grounds of the beautiful Dartington Estate, Totnes. Each child can choose from a variety of exciting activities such as water-sports, pottery and quest games and many more.
Camping is optional but one of the favourite activities. We offer excitement, freedom and fun and treat children with the respect and dignity they deserve. So, put these dates in your diary: 31st July- 4th Aug and the 7th - 11th August - see you there:)
