🐈‍⬛🐈Cat Food Donation Appeal – Can You Help?🐈🐈‍⬛

We are currently in need of wet adult 1+ cat food either Whiskas or Felix for our furry residents and would greatly appreciate any donations, for use at our centre in Thirsk. 🐱🩵

If you can donate an unopened pouch, pack or box (or two!), we would be incredibly grateful. Every donation makes a real difference to the comfort and wellbeing of the cats in our care. 🐾

100+ Days Waiting... Surely Fox's Forever Home Is Out There? 🐇

Our handsome boy Fox has now spent over 100 days in our care, and we're determined to help him find the loving home he deserves. 💔

Sometimes male rabbits can take a little longer to find their perfect match, but we know Fox's special someone is out there waiting for him.

Fox is looking for a spacious indoor home where he can continue blossoming into the confident, curious rabbit we know and love. Every day this wonderful boy grows a little braver, exploring his surroundings, enjoying new experiences, and showing us more of his sweet personality. 🐰

A true foodie, Fox is always first in line for dinner and never says no to a tasty treat! He loves willow to nibble on and enjoys plenty of enrichment to keep his busy bunny mind occupied. Tunnels, boxes, hideaways, and foraging opportunities are all high on his list of favourite things.

Most importantly, Fox is searching for a neutered female rabbit to share life's adventures with. Rabbits are incredibly social animals, and we'd love to see him enjoying the companionship of a bunny friend of his own. ❤️

He could live with respectful children who understand that friendships take time to build, and with patience, kindness and love, we're sure Fox will reward his new family with plenty of happy bunny moments.

After more than 100 days of waiting, we think it's time for Fox to find his happily ever after. Could you be the one to give him the home he's been hoping for?

FAQ:

Will I drive my own car?
• No, you will be driving the Blue Cross car or van which are at the rehoming centre. Both are manual.
• Before you begin, you will have an induction and will need a licence check.

What sort of driving tasks would I do?
• Collecting pets and bringing them to the centre.
• Delivering food/equipment to our pet fosterers.
• Collecting donations from Pets At Home stores (Northallerton & Catterick)
• Dropping off donated pet food at local partner foodbanks (e.g. Thirsk, Northallerton, Darlington).

**The maximum driving time tends to be 2.5-2hrs each way but is often well under this!**

How flexible is the role?
• Very! Volunteer driving tasks happen during centre opening hours which are 08:30 - 17:00. We are open 7 days a week, including bank holidays!
• You can let us know the dates you're available, and we'll get in touch when we need you. Alternatively, you can be on standby and available on a set day each week.

🐾 Still Waiting... Could You Be Charlie’s Person? 🐾

We can't quite believe we're writing this, but since going up for adoption, Charlie has received no applications at all.

Charlie is a sweet, fun-loving chap who loves to play, especially when toys and treats are involved! He'll happily entertain himself by tossing his toys around and enjoys enrichment activities that keep his clever mind busy. Food is definitely the way to his heart, and once he trusts you, his affectionate and playful personality really shines through.

The big world can feel a little overwhelming for Charlie at times, so he's looking for a calm, understanding home where he can build his confidence at his own pace. He's not looking for a life of hustle and bustle, just kind people who will give him the patience, reassurance, and love he needs to flourish. In return, you'll gain a loyal companion who will make every milestone feel incredibly rewarding.

Charlie enjoys the company of other dogs and could potentially live with a canine friend. He could also share his home with older children who understand that he may need some space while settling in. He travels well in the car and would love to join his future family on gentle adventures as his confidence continues to grow.

Sometimes the dogs who wait the longest make the most special companions. Charlie just needs someone to look past his worries and see the wonderful dog waiting underneath.

We’re currently looking for donations of unscented cat litter, especially paper-based litter, for use at our centre in Thirsk. 🐱🩵

Paper-based litter is particularly helpful for our cats and kittens as it is gentle, absorbent and low-dust, while unscented litter helps protect sensitive noses and avoids unnecessary fragrances.

If you’re able to donate a bag (or two!), we would be incredibly grateful. Every donation makes a real difference to the comfort and wellbeing of the cats in our care. 🐾

🐾Can you help Blue Cross Thirsk?🐾

We're reaching out to our wonderful supporters to see if anyone has a small worktop fridge they no longer need and would be willing to donate to our centre.

As a charity, we're always looking for ways to make every penny go further. A donated fridge would help us to save valuable funds that can instead be used directly on the care, welfare and rehabilitation of the pets who rely on us.

If you have a small fridge in good working order sitting unused, donating it could make a real difference to the animals in our care. Even if you can't help personally, sharing this post could help us find exactly what we need.

📢🐾Donation Appeal - Can you help?📢🐾

We're currently looking for donations of unscented, non-biological washing powder for use at our centre in Thirsk.
The washing powder is used to wash our pets' bedding, so it is important that it is non-biological and fragrance-free to help protect sensitive skin and noses.
