Whether you are a tree or pond warden or not, if you have a question or comment about trees,
woodlands or ponds why not post it here, perhaps with a photo or video? The Kent Wardens are divided into two groups or schemes, the Kent Tree Wardens scheme (about 140 listed) and the Kent Pond Wardens scheme (about 80 listed). The role of the Kent Tree Wardens scheme is to:
• Encourage local community involvement in tree related projects.
• Monitor the state of trees planted in their local area and identify and report any problems to the relevant people.
• Report potentially dangerous trees and trees that may be at risk to the relevant Tree Officer.
• Provide a local tree advice service to local residents.
• Gather information about their local trees.
• Undertake other community related tasks as agreed with their appointing body.
• Encourage local practical projects associated with trees and woods.
• Provide their appointing body with an annual summary of activities, either written or verbally. The role of the Kent Pond Wardens scheme is to:
• Provide local people with the necessary skills to survey, manage and create ponds.
• Monitor and survey the ponds planted in their local area; identify and report any problems to the relevant people.
• Provide a local Pond advice service to local residents.
• Gather information about their local Ponds.
• Undertake other community related tasks as agreed with their appointing body.
• Encourage local practical projects associated with Ponds.
• Provide their appointing body with an annual summary of activities, either written or verbally.
