Tonbridge Philharmonic Society We are a friendly Choral & Orchestral Society in Kent. Join us under the baton of Naomi Butcher. Welcome to the Tonbridge Philharmonic Society.

Tonbridge Philharmonic Society is a well-respected part of musical life in Kent under the Music Directorship of Naomi Butcher. We normally perform five concerts each season - which runs from September until July, and our Traditional Family Carols for charity, in the Tonbridge School Chapel, organised with the Tonbridge Round Table. Rehearsals are weekly: the orchestra on Monday evenings, the choir

Beethoven originally dedicated Symphony No. 3 Eroica (meaning ‘heroic’) to Napoleon Bonaparte, admiring the French Revolution. But when Napoleon declared himself emperor, Beethoven was furious — reportedly tearing the title page from the manuscript and scratching out Napoleon’s name!
