Bridgerton aside, there have been some amazing royal women who changed English history. At our meeting on Wednesday 18 March, our speaker is Janie (a former Sotheby’s director) who will talk to us about five intelligent, determined and resilient royal women (not including Queen Charlotte!) who achieved what they set out to do - it should be inspirational! Visitors are welcome - please get in touch if you are interested.

The National Federation of WIs told us in December that they have been left with no choice but to exclude trans women from formal membership, even though they don’t want to.
The Good Law Project are encouraging the WI to change their decision and are offering to defend them in any associated court case (and to cover all their costs).
If you would like the WI to remain inclusive (even if you are not currently a member), please take action by following the link below (the Good Law Project have formulated emails for individuals to send to the WI):

At our meeting next week, we are continuing with our wellbeing theme and are looking forward to a wonderful sound bath, lead by Naomi. The sound bath promises to be a deeply relaxing and calming experience - participants will lie on the floor and be bathed in soothing sounds and vibrations from crystal singing bowls, a gong and crystal chimes, helping you to let go of stress and leaving you feeling lighter, refreshed, and more connected.
If you are interested in coming along (a visitor fee of just £5 is payable), please contact us in advance as spaces are limited and priority will be given to Tons N Roses WI members

Do you think you are too young for the WI? Think again!
Tons N Roses is an inclusive, supportive and progressive community of women of all ages. We don’t know our members’ ages (because it doesn’t matter to us), but we do know that lots of us have pre-school and school-aged children (and love having some “me time” away from them!)
We meet once a month for fun activities and talks and, in between meetings, we stay connected through our vibrant WhatsApp community, with dedicated chats (eg book club, supper club, theatre, running, walking, quizzing, crafts, gardening, etc) which provide opportunities to meet up and build friendships with women who share your interests.

Our next meeting is on 21 January and will focus on wellbeing. One of our lovely members will talk to us about her journey to becoming a qualified yoga instructor, and will guide us through some breathing, mindfulness and stretching practices to begin the New Year. No equipment or experience is required, just come wearing some loose clothing that allows you to move freely (i.e. no tight jeans!)
If you are interested in coming along and are not already a member, please message us or email us (link in bio) for more details.

Our meeting this Wednesday 17 December, will really get us into the Christmas spirit. We are having a festive Bake-Off (no Paul Hollywood-style put-downs allowed for our wonderful bakers!), followed by a fun-fuelled game of Christmassy bingo. If you’d like to come along and are not already a member, please message us or email us (link in bio) so we know how many to cater for.

Thank you to everyone who attended last night’s vigil (including representatives from Kent Police, who are called to deal with domestic abuse crimes all too often). We are particularly grateful to those who shared moving stories, poems and music, a couple of which we share here. We will continue to stand together against gender-based violence.
