It was fantastic to see so many local farmers come together this week at Tiverton Town Football Club for our monthly Vintage Farmers event 🌾

There’s something really special about creating space for people to connect, share stories, and enjoy a good chat over a cuppa and a slice of cake. Thank you to everyone who came along and made it such a wonderful morning.

We’re already looking forward to the next one at the Vale Valley Vets! If you're interested in coming along please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Our peer-to-peer cancer support group is meeting on Tuesday 2nd June at 10am at Sandy's cafe in Tiverton. This is for anyone affected by cancer, we'll just be getting a cuppa and having a chat - we'll be there until 11am.

Know the signs. Check your skin.

Non-melanoma skin cancer is the most common type of skin cancer in the UK. It develops in the top layer of the skin and includes basal cell carcinoma (BCC) and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC).
As this image shows, it doesn’t always look the same.

It might be:
• A raised, smooth growth
• A rough or crusty patch
• A flat discoloured area
• A sore that doesn’t heal
• A patch that itches or bleeds

The main cause is ultraviolet (UV) light from the sun and sunbeds.

You may be more at risk if you:
• Are older
• Have pale skin
• Have had skin cancer before

The good news is it’s often treatable, especially when found early. Protect your skin:
• Use sunscreen and reapply regularly
• Take extra care in strong sun
• Avoid sunbeds

If something doesn’t look or feel right, trust your instincts and get it checked.

We’re looking for friendly, enthusiastic volunteers to help support the upcoming junior parkrun event at West Exe!

Whether you can spare a little time or want to get more involved in your community, volunteering is a brilliant way to meet new people, support local families, and help create a fun, safe environment for young runners.

No experience needed – just a positive attitude and a willingness to get involved 💚

Roles are simple and rewarding, from cheering on runners to helping with set up and marshalling the course.
