If you love flowers, this is the place for you! About Us
Tiverton Flower Club
We’re a friendly bunch from all walks of life with a shared love of flowers.

Come and visit our friendly club in Tiverton on the first Thursday of the month to enjoy a demonstration of flower arranging and a chance to win one of the arrangements. We host regular demonstrations and run occasional workshops and outings. Our demonstrators are NAFAS qualified and cover the whole range from modern to traditional arrangements and, as you would expect, make it look so easy! But there are always lots of tips and ideas to try out yourself, if you wish. Some of our members enter competitions in local shows (Devon County Show for example) either individually or for the Club and there are always lots of opportunities to become more involved if you wish. If you’re interested in learning or practising flower arranging, we can point you in the right direction for classes or courses. So whether you just want to spend an enjoyable afternoon in the company of other flower lovers or are looking to learn how to arrange flowers yourself, do come and join us. The club is affiliated to the National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies which gives access to shows, courses and a range of other events and opportunities. If you’d like to ask us any questions please drop in at one of our meetings or contact us.

We were very happy to welcome a new face to our October meeting. Hannah Burnett from Plymouth gave us her interpretation of "Autumn Begins" with a magnificent collection of flowers and foliage. A lovely, friendly afternoon.

Congratulations to Felix Hardy, one of our new members, who decided to enter the decorative section of Tiverton Garden Club's Annual Show. As you can see, she swept the board with some lovely arrangements and also ended up with the award for Best in Show. We look forward to seeing more from her in the future.

Although we don't have a club meeting in August, 15 members joined an outing to Florist and Demonstrator Angie Blackwell's garden in Somerset recently. Angie (Cottage Flowers) took us on a tour of her garden and then demonstrated some good ideas for different containers and plant material in several arrangements, while all the time keeping us well fed and watered! A quiz rounded off a very enjoyable afternoon. Thank you Angie - we look forward to seeing you again soon.

We were delighted to have a stand at the Mid-Devon Show last Saturday when the show theme was Winnie the Pooh! Amongst many other things, we created a small 100 aker wood for our bear to feel at home!
Many other things were on display including the reusable mechanics we try to use. There was also a chance for members of the public (including very small ones!) to try their hand at flower arranging.
There was lots of interest and potential new members, along with the award of 1st prize from the show committee. Well done and thank you to all those involved.

"A Flower Prescription" was the intriguing title of Cathryn Brown's demonstration at our July meeting. Certainly we all felt better for her visit and the wealth of arrangements (with many "Blue Peter's") for the raffle. A very enjoyable afternoon!

June saw a welcome return visit of Lesley Hunt with her demonstration "A lifetime of hospitality". From a home B&B to a 75 bedroom hotel, she created some reminiscences of a life in Weston-super-Mare catering to guests. A lovely afternoon and some interesting designs.

Tiverton Flower Club gained 2nd place in the Club class at the Devon County Show with an interpretation of Coast to Country. Chris Moore and Jane Haas did a great job as usual. Congratulations to Newton Abbot Club who pipped us at the post for 1st place.

An idea in the Flower Arranger magazine inspired the workshop at our May meeting, led by the talented Jane Haas. A very sociable and productive afternoon, rounded off with tea and home-made cakes.

Our April demonstrator, Sue Davey of Simply Flowers by Sue, gave us a great start to the long Easter weekend with these lovely designs.

Hope everyone enjoyed their break!
