Congratulations

We are incredibly proud to share that we’ve awarded two Chief Scout Commendation Awards for Good Service to Sandy who volunteers with the Beavers and Kevin who volunteers with the Cubs. This honour recognises their dedication, hard work, and the countless hours they give to support our group and wider Scouting community.

Congratulations Kevin and Sandy!

Our scouts participate regularly in the Exmoor Challenge which is a great walking event arranged by Exe Valley Rotary International for 10 to 17 year olds. Our teams train for the event throughout February, March and April with the support of some great volunteers. It is not an easy challenge, as teams need to diligently achieve a pace of 3 miles per hour with points deducted for being early and late to check points. The senior teams have to walk even faster! So anyone who completes this (or even attempts it) is amazing in our eyes!

The 2026 results are out and we’re very proud of all our teams that completed the event. Our two junior boys teams managed to finish in joint 1st place! Nothing to split them!

Congratulations as well to Willand and Wiveliscombe Scout groups that topped three of the other five categories available.

Note that the team with the lowest number of points wins. Time penalties are scored as minutes lost or gained, and 'Questions' is the number of correct questions answered (Maximum 16). Congratulations to ALL teams who completed the challenge - the conditions this year were ok to start with but very....

2nd Tiverton Scouts have some exciting plans over the next 18 months with our expedition to Sweden. We do still need help and support with our wide ranging term time weekly programme. So whether you’re a mechanic who could show a scout how to change a tyre, a crafter who could make an amazing Mother’s Day gift or a keen hill walker teaching them how to stay warm and dry, you might be able to help us. Summer camp was full of fun activities and learning skills for life. Our scouts prepared and cooked all of their own meals throughout the week and took part in some great activities at Woodhouse Park Scout Centre.
