🌿 An Update from the House of Blackthorn 🌿

As we haven't received any responses for this evening's Vigil of Cernunnos, we have decided to cancel tonight's gathering.
Rather than sitting in an empty Temple, we'll instead spend the evening quietly honouring the Green One in our own way and preparing for the Solstice.
Thank you to everyone who supported today's Patron Day and visited the Temple. Your presence, blessings and kindness mean the world to us.

🌿 Our Patron Days will continue every month, completely free and open to all.
Keep an eye on our page for July's Patron Day, where we'll once again open the doors of the House of Blackthorn for community, reflection, blessings and celebration.

Our Vigil of Cernunnos begins this evening at 7:00pm, and we'd love to share this sacred time with our community.

As this is a free gathering, we don't have any bookings and aren't sure if anyone is planning to join us. Rather than keeping the Temple open if no one is coming, we're asking for a little help.

There is something deeply magical about creating with your own hands.

Long before spell books and social media, witches, wise folk and cunning women wove their intentions into cords, knots and charms, creating powerful talismans that carried protection, abundance, healing and hope.

The Witches' Ladder is one of these beautiful folk traditions—a sacred practice where every knot becomes a promise, every charm holds a story, and every thread is infused with personal intention.
Join us for a gentle, immersive day exploring the old ways of cord magic and intuitive craft. Throughout the workshop, you'll discover the history and folklore behind Witches' Ladders, learn the symbolism of sacred numbers and knot magic, work with herbs and charms, and connect with your own intuition as you create a unique magical piece to take home.
Rather than following rigid rules, this workshop encourages you to trust your instincts, choose the colours, textures and correspondences that speak to your spirit, and weave together a deeply personal talisman that reflects your own journey.

During the day we will explore:
• The origins and folklore of the Witches' Ladder
• Traditional knot magic and sacred counting
• Choosing cords, charms, herbs and crystals with intention
• Creating magical pouches and spirit bundles
• Blessing and activating your finished creation
• Simple rituals for using your ladder in daily spiritual practice

Whether you are completely new to witchcraft or have been walking a magical path for years, this workshop offers a peaceful space to slow down, create, and reconnect with the wisdom of the old folk traditions.
All materials are provided, and you'll leave with your own handcrafted Witches' Ladder, magical pouch and the knowledge to continue creating meaningful cord magic at home.

Spaces are intentionally limited to keep the circle intimate, supportive and inspiring.

With the second Full Moon of May rising on Sunday 31st May, we welcome the rare and beautiful energy of the Blue Moon.

To honour this sacred lunar tide, our Temple space will be open.

Throughout the weekend our altar space will take on an Oceanic theme — a place of deep reflection, intuition, cleansing, and emotional renewal beneath the light of the Blue Moon.
