Welcome to Healing Hooves Devon ❤️

If you've recently found our page — or haven't heard from us for a while — we'd love to tell you a little about what happens here.

Healing Hooves Devon is a registered charity providing rescue, rehabilitation and lifelong sanctuary for horses and ponies, alongside our ground-based Equine-Assisted Learning work with young people and young adults with additional needs.

Our horses and ponies are individuals. Many are older or have additional medical and dietary needs, and their welfare will always come first.

We're also incredibly fortunate to have a wonderful team of volunteers who give their time, care and sheer hard work to keep everything going. We couldn't do what we do without them. ❤️

And we're enormously proud that Healing Hooves Devon has been selected as one of only THREE charities nationally as finalists for Charity of the Year in the 2026 Equestrian Business Awards. 🏆
Right now, however, we face our biggest challenge yet.

🏡 We urgently need a new long-term home.
We're looking for 40+ acres with barns/agricultural buildings on a secure long-term rental. Living accommodation would be wonderful, although we can work around this for the right property.

We'd particularly love to hear from farmers or landowners considering diversification, as well as anyone who may know of a suitable property that hasn't reached the open market.

🐴 Rescue. Welfare. Equine-Assisted Learning.
Please follow our page, share our story and help us find the place where the next chapter of Healing Hooves Devon can begin. ❤️🏡

On my early morning rounds I discovered a deer still in situ had knocked some fencing down. Pippy and Pompom had joined Jimmy and Strawberry in their paddock. They were integrating because Pippy hadn't met Strawberry properly but they seem ok this morning but I'll keep an eye on them.
I then checked all the others inc the retirement liveries , most had rolled in the mud and are very happy to have some cooler weather. The sweetitch ponies rugs are still relatively dry and must stay on with the midges now multiplying! There are various types of paddocks here some grassy and others bare where the ponies get hay twice a day , I'm still watering all by hand twice a day at the moment which is hard on the back but has to be done.

Lots of jobs done again this morning, thanks to our lovely team of volunteers 🙋‍♀️ 😀

Time for Pippy's annual clip , he has a curly coat but doesn't have cushings disease and really enjoys the experience but not keen on getting his teeth done or being wormed!

We had a great time today giving the older ponies an M.O.T then we moved them to a new paddock that we fenced..
Many thanks to our 7 volunteers who worked very hard !

Lots of jobs done today including Farrier. Blossom was very good , she also had her feathers trimmed and treated. She's looking very well and her coat shiny.

I posted this earlier but can't see it so here we go again!
Today we had the marvellous Mike O'Brien for our dental care ,good reports all round . I missed getting photos of Honey and Strawberry...🤦🏻‍♀️
The oldies with dental issues see the vet regularly under sedation if necessary. 🐴🧡
