Titchfield Country Market

Titchfield Country Market Sadly we held our last market this morning after trading in Titchfield for almost 53 years. We are now closed. Payments can be made by either cash or card.

Permanently closed.

There are 5 other Country Markets in Hampshire please visit one of them. Alresford, Bishops Waltham, Hartley Wintney, Fareham & Romsey markets. Weekly market held in the Parish Room, High Street, Titchfield ( beside the Queen’s Head). We offer a selection of home produced sweet and savoury items, preserves, craft, cards, plants, seasonal fruit, flowers and vegetables . Everything we sell we either

produce ourselves or source locally. We are happy to take orders for collection ( including celebration cakes) with a 50% deposit. From the end of October we take orders for Christmas Cakes and other seasonal items. For details please ring (01329 )847930 or place an order in market. Titchfield Country Market is run as a cooperative and welcomes new producers. For information on producing for us, please contact the number in this item, email the contact on this page or pop in and talk to us one Friday morning. All our cooks have Food Hygiene Certificates and are updated regularly with changes in legislation to ensure that our products are not only delicious but ‘safe’ and free from added preservatives. All our pre packed food now displays full ingredient labelling in line with the Natasha’s Law legislation. Our cooks are happy to cater for specific dietary needs on request. TCM is currently closed for its Christmas break and will re open on Friday January 14th 2022 from 09:30 until 11:30. We are a Covid Safe Environment and have measures in place to ensure that all our members and customers are kept as safe as possible. We are supporting the NHS Test and Trace App and have QR posters ready for people to check in with. We ask that all our customers observe and respect the measures we have in place please. We really look forward to welcoming customers old and new.

Dear Titchfield and Environs
Thank you to everyone that visited us this morning in market. Sadly it was our last day of trading in Titchfield, exactly 52 years and 10 months since we opened. It was great to share this with customers and producers old and new , we hope you enjoyed your cake! Without the support of loyal customers over the years we’d have closed a long time ago.

After ‘almost 53 years’ of trading in Titchfield , our market will be closing its doors for the last time on Friday at 11:30. We would really like our last market to be one of celebration not sadness although we are all dreadfully sad that we’re closing. Please come and visit on Friday between 09:00 and 11:30 and select from our selection of sweet & savoury home baked products, free range eggs, craft, cards and hopefully some plants. As a thank you to all our customers and also our producers , we will be offering hot drinks and home baked cakes as refreshments. We look forward to catching up with some former members and customers old and new. Thank you for supporting us for so long. We’d have closed much sooner without you.
Some of our producers will be selling in other Hampshire Country Markets why not pop along and see them at Bishops Waltham CM ( from 10-12 on Friday) or Fareham at Portchester ( every 2nd & 4th Wednesday of the month) and Fareham at Stubbington Library ( every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month). There are also Country Markets in Alresford ( Thursday) , Hartley Wintney ( Friday) & Romsey (2nd & 4th Friday of the month 10:30 - 12:30).

Bought the bulb for £3 in Waitrose after Christmas. If I’d been giving this as a Christmas present I’d have been very disappointed as sold as red. It’s not Christmas so I’m quite pleased!

Dear Customers and Friends
Titchfield Country Market is facing several challenges making it very difficult for us to continue. Sadly, yesterday, we announced our closure to our members and now to you also.
Our last market will take place on Friday 28th February between 09:00 and 11:30 in the Village Hall, High Street, Titchfield ( beside the Queen’s Head). We would really like this to be a celebration of ‘almost 53 years’ of our market in Titchfield and look forward to welcoming as many customers and members both past and present.
With Thanks for your continued support over the years without which we would have closed much sooner.

Now Autumn and returned to our home in the renovated Village Hall !Gardeners, we will have garden plants and some indoor ‘specimens’ for three weeks more. Autumn is an excellent time to plant for next year with the soil still warm enough and the winter and spring rains to come ( not that we haven’t had enough) to assist with growth.
Titchfield Country Market needs new cooks to bake and cook food to sell in market. If you have time and are interested, please come and talk to us. You will need a food hygiene certificate level 2 which can easily be obtained online. Assistance and advice on how to label your food will be given . We have a wonderful selection of craft to buy also including woven willow items, carved and turned wood, stained glass, up-cycled wooden planters and bird boxes, hand dyed silk scarves, knitwear, fabric bags and cards. Everything we sell is either produced by our producers or sourced locally. Cooks are very difficult to find and we would be interested in hearing from anyone that is serious in becoming involved with market.
Our annual Craft Day will be happening on Saturday October 26th from 10 until 4 in the Village Hall as always. An ideal opportunity to buy that unusual gift or a little something for yourself.
We look forward to seeing you!

Thank you to our customers that visited us this morning in our new ‘temporary’ home the Queen’s Head. We sold well in spite of not having as much stock as usual. We will cook more next week and there’ll be two different crafters for you to buy from. Plants have taken a holiday until September when there’ll be a good selection for you to purchase. Cut flowers and garden produce will be on sale throughout the summer as it becomes available.

SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL COUNTRY MARKET ! - WE’VE MOVED ! Titchfield Country Market will be open on Friday morning from 09:00 until 11:30 at the Queen’s Head, High Street , Titchfield. If dry you’ll find us in the beer garden ( down the drive) and if wet in the pub’s dining room ( via the front of the pub).Look out for our ‘meet & greeters’ in their high vis vests! We will have a selection of home baked sweet and savoury items as usual plus assorted preserves & free range eggs. As the space is restricted our crafters will be coming to join us on a rota basis. We will have flowers & garden produce when available also but plants are taking a break until September when we move back to the Village Hall after the internal refurbishments are complete. The autumn is an excellent time to plant for next year so please come and see us. Everything we sell we ‘genuinely’ produce ourselves or source locally.
DO YOU ENJOY COOKING? If you do why not join us as a producer. Titchfield Country Market needs new cooks, please come and talk to us.
All welcome, we look forward to seeing you.

Two more Friday markets at the Village Hall before the internal refurbishment begins! Titchfield Country Market will be moving next door to the outside garden area of the Queen’s Head pub. If the weather is wet you will find us in the pub’s dining room. We are very grateful to Judy & Nigel for offering us space during the 6 weeks of building work.
Our alfresco markets will be smaller as the space is restricted but we will have food, craft on a rota , plants and hopefully flowers also. The Queens’s Head will be selling coffee etc during our market hours so please support them as we will be. Look out for our Meet & Greeters in their ‘high vis vests ‘!
