Hi everyone,

At the end of this year, our two amazing Explorer Leaders are stepping down. They’ve done a fantastic job, and we’re going to miss them immensely. However, it leaves us with a big challenge: if we can’t find new volunteers to step in, our Explorer Unit will have to close in January.

Scouting is a big journey that runs all the way from age 6 to 18.
If our Explorer Unit closes, there will be nowhere for our children to progress to once they
outgrow Scouts. We really don't want them to miss out on the best bits of the adventure just as they get older, including:
• Learning real life skills, independence, and things that look great on a CV.
• Staying together with the great group of friends they’ve made here over the years.
• Continuing their journey with big outdoor adventures and top-tier badges.

How you can help (No expert skills required!)
Please don't worry if you’ve never done anything like this before. Explorers (ages 14–18) are very independent. The role is less about leading a group and much more about mentoring, helping them organise their own activities, and making sure things run safely. Full training and plenty of support are provided.

Our current Explorer meetings take place on a Wednesday 7pm – 8.30pm at the Gunyah.
We are looking for a few friendly faces to share the load:
• Leaders or Assistant Leaders to help run or co-run the weekly sessions.
• Helpers on a flexible rota to just pitch in every now and then when they can.

If you, a partner, or a grandparent think you could help keep the unit alive, please get in touch for an informal, no-pressure chat.

Hi everyone,

Welcome back from the summer break.
Cubs tonight had 7 newbies mostly from beavers and we were delighted that 4 of our beavers were awarded with the highest badge possible the bronze award. They will wear them with pride on there cub uniform.
