Our clinicians have successfully completed the Trust’s first advanced CryoEBUS lung tissue sampling procedures. By taking larger, higher-quality samples, this innovative technique helps deliver faster, more accurate diagnoses for patients with complex lung conditions - reducing repeat procedures and helping patients start the right treatment sooner.

A huge thank you to Consultant Respiratory Physicians Dr Mazhar Chaudri and Dr Asif Azam, and to all colleagues and partners who supported this important step forward for patient care.

Hello everyone - more information about the previous post.

A special thank you to all fundraisers for the opportunity to allow the charity to make the recent donation to C5 ward to purchase a Cryo-Ebus machine.

This specialist equipment will make a real difference for both patients and clinicians. The cryo-Ebus
(Endobronichial ultra sound with cryotherapy)allows doctors to take a larger, higher quality lung tissue sample in a less invasive way.

This leads to quicker and more accurate cancer diagnoses, reduces the need for repeat procedures and makes the experience safer and more comfortable for patients.

Thanks to this donation Ward C5 will also be one of the first centres in the country to use this technology placing them at the forefront of innovation in cancer care.

For the team it provides great precision and efficiency and for patients it means a better outcome at a time when speed and accuracy are so important.

This is what the charity is all about reflecting the commitment to constantly improve cancer care to all patients.

Without you all we could not make a difference.

We’re delighted to share that a generous donation of £18,497.78 from the Leukaemia Unit Appeal Fund has enabled Ward C5 to purchase a cutting-edge cryo-EBUS (endobronchial ultrasound with cryotherapy capability) machine.

This technology allows for quicker, safer, and more accurate lung cancer diagnoses — improving outcomes for patients and supporting our clinical teams.

A huge thank you for helping us stay at the forefront of cancer care! 💛
