Rural Life Timber Group We are volunteers running the woodyard at the Rural Life Living Museum in Tilford, Surrey

We are the Rustic Timber Group, running the woodyard at the Rural Life Living Museum at Tilford, Surrey. The woodyard can be seen whenever the museum is open and runs several times a year including during events such as Working with Wood, Rustic Sunday and Harvest Home - the yard runs at other times depending on volunteer availability. We also exhibit at shows and rallies in the Surrey, Hampshire and and Sussex areas. See the Rural Life Living Museum's official page and website for more information about what we think is a very special place, and details of opening days and times.

Plane lace bug has been identified in London over recent weeks.

This insect pest of plane trees feeds on the leaves, causing them to show discolouration and early leaf drop.

Trees which experience high populations of this pest year after year can become weakened and susceptible to other problems.

Plane lace bug is not a regulated pest, which means there is no requirement to take statutory action. But we're advising people to be alert for signs and report any suspected findings using TreeAlert.

After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Rural Life Living Museum steam rally, Steam at Work on 22nd and 23rd August.
The current exceptionally high fire risk, means that we cannot responsibly proceed with the event.
We understand this news will be disappointing, and we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this cancellation may cause. We greatly appreciate your understanding and continued support of the Rural Life Living Museum.

Visitors who have pre-booked tickets will be contacted shortly.
