Tideswell & District Repair Cafe Run by volunteers, we offer a community repair service and café with tea, coffee and homemade cakes. We open on 3rd Saturdays monthly EXCEPT August & December.

Opening hours are 10:00-13:00 with last items accepted by 12:30. Donations welcome. Tideswell & District Repair Café was launched in May 2022 and is quickly bringing in repairs from the village and surrounding area. We are very friendly and welcoming and serve homemade refreshments and real coffee! Our repairer team is multi-talented and will tackle all sorts of domestic items needing repair including electrical goods, textiles, small furniture items, clocks, printers, toys and we've even repaired a telescope. We are lucky to have a newly built hall as our home, which has an air source heat pump and solar panels for heating. We have set ourselves up so that no one person has too much on their shoulders with different people leading the 3 volunteer teams of repairers, hosts and refreshments. Please bring along your broken items for advice and hopefully repair. We ask for donations to cover our costs. NB This is a repair café not a restoration workshop like the TV's "Repair Shop". If spare parts are needed the team will advise on what to get and where to get it from at your expense. They can show you how to do the repair or bring it along to the next event and they'll do the full repair. This project is part of Tideswell & District Environment Group

We’re holding our next Repair Café on Saturday 17th October 10:00-13:00 at Tideswell Community Hall and its International Repair Day!
Even if you don’t have an item for repair or a tool for sharpening, or need advice on an older item, come along for a cuppa and cake, browse through our Ethical Consumer magazines, enjoy a chat.

Just one week to go: on Saturday 17 October, we celebrate the tenth edition of International Repair Day. With this year’s theme: Repairing Unites People.

New events are being added to the world map every day. Whether you have something broken that deserves a second life, or you’re simply curious to see how it all works, there’s bound to be an activity near you.

Still want to organize something yourself? Put your event on the map and check out the program at https://repairday.org/
