We’re on the lookout for a loud PA system (and a helping pair of hands!) for our Christmas Lights Switch-On on Saturday 28th November 2026.

Without it… Father Christmas might not be heard across the Square… and that simply won’t do! 🎅🔊

If you (or someone you know) has a PA system and a bit of community spirit, we’d LOVE you to join our team of volunteers for one magical evening.

✨ Raffle Winners Announcement! ✨

Thank you to everyone who bought raffle tickets at the Ticehurst Christmas Lights Switch-On, your support means so much and helps us keep this lovely village tradition going each year. 🎄

This afternoon we took all the raffle tickets to The Bell’s Frost Fair and asked for a helping hand in pulling out the two winning tickets… and here are our winners:

✨ Thank you, Ticehurst! ✨

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to the Christmas Lights Switch-On last night. It was a lovely evening and wonderful to see the village come together.

Thank you to everyone who kindly made a donation. Your support means we can continue our much-loved village tradition of Christmas lights and our annual Switch-On. We truly couldn’t do it without you.

A massive thank you also to everyone working behind the scenes. Our volunteers, helpers, organisers and supporters who give their time every year to make this event possible.

It was wonderful to hear the Ticehurst School's Choir and the Jolly Boys singing along with Wadhurst Brass Band, filling the Square with Christmas spirit. 🎶🎄

❄️✨ A Huge Thank You to Ben Mummery!

A massive shoutout to Ben Mummery, our brilliant local tree surgeon, who spent hours up in the trees on the Village Square removing the old, broken Christmas lights and carefully restringing the new ones.

Ben braved the snow, freezing temperatures, and some very icy heights to help make Ticehurst look magical for Christmas. 🌲✨

Ben (number below) offers all types of tree work, fencing, bits of landscaping and also sells logs — so a big thank you to him for giving his time and skills to the village.

And another huge thank you to Noahs Property Services and our amazing Christmas Lights Volunteers, who were also out in the cold in the trees and around the village helping to get everything ready for the Switch-On.

We truly couldn’t do this without your hard work, time and community spirit. ❤️

TICEHURST CHRISTMAS LIGHTS SWITCH-ON — SATURDAY 29th NOVEMBER

You are all invited to this year’s Christmas Lights Switch-On!
We have some very special guests joining us!

🎅 Father Christmas will be arriving on his sleigh… and this year he’s joined by Dr Xand from CBBC’s Operation Ouch!
They will be switching on the lights together at 6pm.

🎶 Festive entertainment from 5.40pm:
• Ticehurst & Flimwell Primary School Choir
• Wadhurst Brass Band
• The Jolly Boys Singers

🎟 Don’t forget the raffle!
We have some brilliant prizes:

There will be mulled wine, hot chocolate and plenty of festive treats to enjoy while we countdown to the big switch-on.

❄️✨ Christmas Lights Volunteers Out in the Snow Today! ✨❄️

A huge shoutout to our amazing volunteers who were out in the freezing snow today, working hard to get Ticehurst looking magical for our Christmas Lights Switch-On on 29th November 6pm.

Ben spent hours up in the trees, removing old, redundant lights and installing the new ones – not an easy job in this weather!

✨ Ticehurst Christmas Lights Switch-On ✨
Saturday 29th November - Village Square

We’d love to invite our wonderful village and local residents to join us for our annual Christmas Lights Switch-On here in Ticehurst!

🎶 Carols start from 5.40pm
– Wadhurst Brass Band
– Ticehurst & Flimwell Primary School Choir

🎅 Father Christmas will be there too – and the children are very welcome to come and say hello!

✨ Lights Switch On at 6pm!
There will be mulled wine, hot chocolate & plenty of festive nibbles to enjoy.
We will be asking for donations on the evening – every penny helps us to be able to do this all again next year. A huge thank you to everyone who has donated so far.

🎟 We also have a raffle on the evening.
Prizes include:
• Family Ticket to Christmas at Bedgebury (kindly donated by Christmas at Bedgebury)
• Dinner for Two at The Bell (kindly donated by The Bell)

And a very big thank you to all of our local businesses for their support, especially The Bell and Greenfinch, and thank you also to our Parish Council.

There is a huge amount of organisation that goes into the Lights and the Switch-On – all done by people who simply love this community. 💛

We can’t wait to see you there and start Christmas together, right here in the heart of Ticehurst. ✨🎄
