💥💥Cairngorm 4000ft 5 munros Conquered💥💥

We set a hike challenge for ourselves that justified a charity fundraiser and f*k a duk was it a challenge and a half.
We suffered some delays on saturday like for example running straight into thunder in the Glens in Aviemore. We had a plan, got up the first 2 munos quickly, Cairn Gorm (with a cheeky beer stop at what Maclean described as a "mountain mirage" Ptarmigan Cafe.🤣) and Ben Macdui. We had to adjust our wild camp spot which set up Sunday as an absolute epic day.
The wild camp was certainly that, at 1350m it was virtually as high as u can get. Lovely clean air, we had a couple of drams, a feed and jamp into our tents for varying levels of comfort lol. All in the space of an hour before darkness.
Up at 5 and setting off by 6.30 we tackled the huge descent off the back of Ben Macdui, Scotlands 2nd highest mountain, into the Glen below, we were attacked by midges all the way down and back up the brutal climb up the other side above the bothy. Once up high a long rest was taken, easily it could have been sleep.🤣
Then onto the 3 munros, after the gruelling down and up the legs were heavy all round.
The first was a huge test to get up onto the plateau we all took it at our own pace and got it done. The shere expanse of these mountains is breathtaking as we made our way over the next 2 tops completing the challenge on the mighty Brae Riach together as a team. Although the challenge of the 5 mountains may have been completed, the walk out was very demanding, long and with tired bodies with the additional test of carrying our packs with camping gear very difficult for all. All in we hiked for 13.5 hours, 6.30am to 8pm. It was the biggest Hike any of us have ever done. The whole team can be extremely proud of their efforts, absolutely amazing. As Gross stated, "how many second winds can a man find!"🤣
🙌Well done team!! 🙌

We have included the link in case you missed sponsoring the guys on the amazing endeavour, we are still taking donations and are grateful to all received.

Charity Hike and Fundraisers Update.🙂

So just to catch up a bit we have had our final Fundraiser a few weeks back. The charity Gig, it was a great success with a good turnout. It brought our fundraising total to around the £3750 mark.
We are very grateful to the bands and singers who performed. Huge thanks to Weigh Inn who generously donated back into our fund the hall rental.😊
Very well done to both Debbie and Gross who both did all the work to put it all together.👍

So onto the hiking. Today was another date that came and went. They really aren't having luck with the weather. Its as high as 70mph winds on the high cairngorm plateau today, rain forecast all afternoon with a temp of -1 and windchill much lower than that and is just not safe, nevermind enjoyable.
So they are ready, were out on another training hike this morning and will have the challenge completed in the next 2 to 3 weeks. The next post you'll see is a group photo of the team as they start the challenge and we'll do a big fundraising sponsorship push while they are hiking and providing updates. Its all coming together.
Thanks.😊

After a lengthy lay off, the guys have had holidays, commitments etc etc. A few of the team have been out here and there.
They had 2 hikes planned this week, the first was Monday evening, u can imagine how they felt with their luck so far with weather.😅
3 of the team did Ben Ratha last night, a cracking hill back of Reay. A good 2 and a half hour workout, Iain and Ruth had the packs, well done, but Derek did not, as in his wisdom he sat in the sun all day Saturday and his shoulders are badly burnt.🤦‍♀️🤣

Huge news coming very very soon.🤫🤫🤫🤣🤣
