Thurso Men's Shed is Growing

🔨 Building friendships, skills and community.

The new Thurso Men's Shed Group, supported by Thurso Community Development Trust, is continuing to grow and welcome new members.

Men's Sheds provide a friendly and supportive environment where people can come together, learn new skills, share experiences and work on practical projects that benefit the community.

The group has already made a positive contribution by repairing the benches outside the Pavilion near the tennis courts.

Development trustee Iain MacLean said: “Working together on shared projects helps men make new friends, build connections and talk about things that matter.”

We’re Moving!

📦 A new base of operations

Thurso Community Development Trust is moving to a new base at 66 Princes Street, near the entrance to Millar Academy.

Moving to more affordable premises will help us direct more resources towards community projects, while our new street-level location makes it easier for people to pop in and say hello.

Chairperson Laura MacLean said: “With office space at street level, we hope the community will pop in and see us more often.”

Whether you have an idea, want to volunteer, or simply want to find out more about what we do, we'd love to hear from you.

It was brilliant having the 2nd Thurso Beavers visiting our Greenhouses on Saturday 3rd October while they were doing their gardening badges! They gifted us a beautiful glass beaver with some flowers which we will look after and enjoy having with us while we work.
We look forward to welcoming more groups in the next growing season.

Meet the New Team

🎉 Exciting changes at Thurso Community Development Trust!

We’re delighted to welcome Ann Brock as our new Development Manager. Ann is a familiar face in the town through her work with the Thurso Community Cafe and brings a wealth of experience, passion and commitment to everything she does.

We’re also pleased to welcome Neil McElroy as our new Operations Lead, where he’ll be supporting projects and volunteers across our work, and Chloe Sinclair, who joins us later this month as our new Admin and Project Support Officer.

Chairperson Laura MacLean said: “Ann, Neil and Chloe will be instrumental in the growth and development of our projects as we move into an exciting new chapter for the Trust.”
