On Tuesday our members enjoyed a highly informative talk on scams and home security from Andrew Hardwick, the Preventions and Interventions Officer for Caithness.

Wishing a big thank you to Andrew for coming to talk to us! Everyone learned a lot about how to keep themselves safe.

We would like to offer a huge thank you to the representatives from Rolls-Royce who chose us as one of two charities to present with a cheque as part of the Vulcan Community Charter. We are delighted to receive an extremely generous donation of £1,081.

It was lovely to meet you all and show you around the Centre, and we are so grateful for the support you have shown us.

We are always so thankful for the amazing support continually shown to us by local organisations. It is thanks to this generosity that we can continue to provide quality emotional and practical support to those in the North Highlands affected by cancer.

🎉 We’re looking for a Volunteer Events Organiser!

Do you have a wee bit of spare time? Do you love organising, getting creative and bringing people together?

We’re looking for a friendly, enthusiastic volunteer to help us come up with ideas and organise fundraising and community events, helping us to support local people affected by cancer. 💚

No formal experience needed, just someone who is organised, full of ideas and happy to get involved! 🙌

The NHCISC were pleased to take part in the NHS Community Pop-Up Hub in Thurso Library on Saturday 12th September.

It was great to talk to everyone there and raise awareness of the support we offer to people affected by cancer in the North Highlands.

💜 A lovely day at the Centre! 💜

We had a lovely visit from Maggie’s Inverness at the Centre today. It was so nice to see so many of our members coming along and enjoying the morning.

Katrina from Maggie’s gave us an update on the support and services available through Maggie’s and spent some time chatting with our members.

We also had an added relaxation session, which was a lovely way to take some time to slow down and unwind. 🌿

Our Mindfulness session takes place here at the center every week at 10am, and everyone affected by cancer is welcome.

And of course, we had some lovely home baking made by our wonderful volunteers to enjoy with a cuppa! 🧁☕️

🌿 A BIG THANK YOU TO FIONA! 🌿

We were delighted to have Fiona Macdonald from the Highlands and Islands Climate Hub visit the centre.

Fiona took the time to chat with us about the work the climate hub does and how to help people and communities make positive changes. 🌎💚

It was a really great session, and we’re grateful to Fiona for coming along and sharing her knowledge with us.
