I recently delivered my 100th Celebration of Life ceremony and it is hard to express how privileged I feel to be able to offer this service. Every single one is just as important to me, and I firmly believe that being able to mark the passing of a loved one, in the most appropriate way for them, is an important step in the grieving process. I thought these words from the Good Grief Trust may offer some comfort. Its a wonderful organisation that is there to offer support and advice if you should need it. π
Today marks the beginning of π This annual campaign from The Good Grief Trust runs between the 2nd - 8th of December to raise awareness and encourage more open conversations about the impact of grief and loss.
This year's theme is
"Losing a loved one feels like an ending in so many ways, but in time, it can also become the ground from which something new begins. After that loss, we can't go back to who we were, but instead, we can grow into someone new shaped by love, memories, and resilience. This growth doesnβt erase the pain, but it allows hope to return. We may even become more present, more compassionate, more aware of what truly matters in life."
