We offer hospitality, delicious coffee, nourishing food, and a place to feel at home. Our chief aim is to serve and bring help and hope to our community.

Alongside the cafe and kitchen, we also provide space for community services and support networks. For more than 10 years St Luke's Church in Thurnby has had a vision to create a place of welcome and community, of help and hope for all in the local area.

We are repurposing and extending the unused Pavilion next to Manor Park in Thurnby into a bright and welcoming community cafe where all kinds o

f people can meet together and where you can find help in all kinds of practical ways.

The name Cafe Fifty Five comes from the opening verses of Isaiah chapter Fifty Five.

"Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat...listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and you will delight in the richest of fare."

Building work began in January 2023 and our hope is for Cafe Fifty Five to be opening some time in late autumn 2023.

ACTIVITIES MORNING ✍️ 🥳 ☕️

During Half-Term, we’re running extra activities sessions for families. We’ll have Lego, colouring, craft, and games!

FREE PANCAKES 🥞 🎉

Pancake Day is in Half Term this year, and we wanted to find a way to serve our community.

So, between the hours of 9:30am and 11am on Tuesday 17th February, we’re giving away FREE pancakes for kids at Cafe Fifty Five. Come along, head to the end of the Cafe, and there’ll be pancakes and toppings for you to add.

It is first come first served, so once they’re gone, they’re gone!

☕️ Coffee machine service day!

Once a year, to make sure your coffee stays tiptop, we have our stunning espresso machine serviced, filters changed, and the ins and outs checked over. Today is that day!

This just means that we’ll be unable to serve espresso drinks from 4pm today. We’ll pop a batch of filter on to make sure that those who need it are still caffeinated!

COMMUNITY DROP IN 🃏☕️

As part of our mission to create a place of welcome, community, help, and hope for all, we run a community drop-in every Wednesday from 9:15am - 11:15am. Expect conversation, card games, community, and coffee.
