Well I didnt quite get a sunset as it went behind the clouds as it was going down. However, it was pretty magical half an hour before it set. Hope Cove has the best sunsets. There is nothing better on a summers evening than a picnic and watching the sun set over the sea 🧡

Day 3 of the thick horrid fog over Devon! Undeterred, The Salcombe Seals had their South Sands dip today. We could just about make each other out in the water!!
Thank you to the lovely staff at The South Sands Hotel that host us weekly in the winter after our dip, by lighting the fire and making sure hot coffees are quickly served. We love this hotel and the warm and gentle staff who work there.

21 locals turned up today for our regular weekly swim. It was probably the coldest swim in months and the water temp was baltic! The initial getting in is the worst bit then we are all fine as we acclimatise.
We unfortunately cant open the group up to others as we are big enough and it works safely now with the numbers we have. The Hope and Anchor Pub host us weekly with the warmest of welcomes, a log fire and pastries! Thank you so much to the wonderful and kind staff there. We appreciate you.

What a day in Hope Cove today!
I felt like the morning started in winter and by midday I was truly in spring. Lunch on an empty beach in March, wearing a t shirt and finally discarding the coat for a few hours has been wonderful! Im re energised. 🩵

For anyone wanting their Hope Cove "fix"!
I walked around Hope Cove and up onto Bolt Tail today. It was so clear today that I could see for miles. It really was like being on top of the world. Any stress and worries just seemed so insignificant up there. Being in nature is the best feeling ever.
If you are wondering if us locals ever get bored or take this scenery for granted. Your answer is no! Ive lived in Devon all my life and each time I see the sea and these views, I am as blown away as if it were my first. I think living in this beautiful county of ours just makes us truly grateful for being in this special part of the world.
It felt like spring today with so many daffodils and bright colours along my way. A day without rain and wind was a treat!

I love the dramatic scenery of Bantham.
Managed a quick swim before the waves got too big and the surfers took to the sea. Just mesmerising watching the skill of these men and ladies riding the waves with such confidence. Id be flat on my face! Tried it, failed miserably. Unless its a body board! What a beautiful sunny day to celebrate Valentines Day.
