🥰 Meet Fat Amy ... if you know, you know 😆

Fat Amy came in to us as a stray not too long ago, and as the name suggests, she was morbidly overweight. We can't promise she will sing as well as Rebel Wilson in Pitch Perfect, but we can promise that she is a funny little French Bulldog, full of...character.

Amy is approximately 5 years old, and as the weight slowly comes off her, she - and we - are discovering that she actually has a fair bit more energy than we previously thought. Unfortunately, Amy is also picky on who she does and doesn't like. She is a playful bundle of joy if you are in her good books, but if not then she can be quite grumpy. For this reason alone, she is looking for an adult only home with no visiting children. She has tested ok with the other dogs here on site, but again, can be very picky on which ones she does/doesn't like, and so will be needing a pet-free home going forwards too.

Amy absolutely loves toys...and food...but really does enjoy playing with rope toys, squeaky toys, soft toys - the lot! She would love a home with a good selection of toys, and people who enjoy playtime with their dog. She is also happy to go for a plod at a steady pace, which will all help her on her weight loss journey, as well as keeping her on the specialised diet which is currently helping trim her down.

She may not be everyone's cup of tea, and she may be a little bit of a handful, but give her the time to come out of her shell and get to know you, and you will find the perfect little companion in her 😊

Iggle Piggle is as unique as her name suggests with a big and loving personality to match! She is a bundle of fun but does have a lot of energy too, so don't be fooled by the cute and calm look on her face, she acts like she is still a puppy sometimes. When excited, Iggle does like to jump around and be a little mouthy, so this will need to be considered if you have children in your family or you are not used to this behaviour. She is suitable to live with kids who are 10+ as well as the same age for visiting children. With her pretty and unique look also comes with some daily care, her wrinkles and fold can't clean themselves so she does need daily wiping which is interesting as she is fast! So if you think you have the speed to catch her when she runs away, then Iggle is the girl for you! 🥰
Iggle Piggle does get on well with other dogs and has lots of doggie friends she plays with, however she is looking to be the only dog in her next home. She has been going through an ear infection which is being treated but will need monitoring going forward, she is the best behaved girl when receiving her ear drops! 💖

🐾 FRIDA 🐾

Dear little Frida is still waiting for a family to call her own. She is approximately 3 years old, and best described as a Griffon mix…possibly with some Frenchie or Boston Terrier in there.

Although her eyes may be looking in different directions, we can guarantee her attention will be solely on you 🤭 Frida is one of the happiest, friendliest little dogs you will ever meet. She loves other dogs too, and would really enjoy the company of another friendly dog in her new home, although this is not a requirement to rehoming her. Given her lovely nature, we also feel she could live with children after having met them down here first.

She has quickly become a firm favourite amongst the staff, and we honestly can’t believe she hasn’t been snapped up sooner. All Frida needs is a comfy sofa to curl up on, and a little bit of love. She took some time getting used to walking on a lead, but her little bunny hops are so endearing and you will often find her laying froggy style on the floor 🐸

Meet Max… he is a very handsome Cocker Spaniel, who is looking for a forever home that can cater to his behavioural needs. Max is approaching 6 years old, and whilst he ticks many boxes in terms of the ideal furry companion, he also is looking for a very specific home who can continue to safely manage some personality quirks that he has. Think of him like Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde… 😬

The Good:

- Max is dog friendly, and loves the company of other dogs
- He is good with people, but requires a child-free home with no visiting children due to his behavioural needs and also having never lived with children
- He is toilet trained indoors, and non-destructive when left to his own devices
- Max travels well in the car

The Bad and The Ugly:

- Max resource guards food and high value treats at home, intensely. This can come as a shock to people who have not witnessed a dog resource guarding before. We are unsure if this is a learned behaviour with Max, or something inherited genetically, as unfortunately, it is well known that some Spaniels are notorious for this. He will need a home with adults who can respect his space whilst he eats, and leave him alone until he is finished. This behaviour stops once his bowl is empty. His new owners will need to be willing to work with Max, continuing to safely manage this behaviour, with our support and any behavioural training he may need. We have found that feeding Max once a day helps avoid this issue multiple times in the day. We will discuss other methods of management in more detail with interested parties. Though Max is beautiful, he is not for the fainthearted, and will need someone who can implement firm boundaries with him from the get go.

Milo is a sweet and gentle lad with a loving and goofy personality as his photo shows 😅. He could happily live with another dog after a successful meet and loves lots of playtime and he has previously lived with children too. Milo is a playful boy and is super friendly and would make a great addition to anyone. He is good around cats, housetrained and travels well. 💙

Meet Jerome…

Meet Jerome - he is a tiny little Jack Russell mix who is approximately 2 years old. He can be a little timid to begin with, but give him the chance to come out of his shell and he loves a fuss and play. Jerome is also good with other dogs, so could potentially live with another friendly companion after having met them here at the centre first.

We do not have any history on Jerome sadly, as he came in to us as a stray in pretty poor condition. However, having had a few baths and a little spruce up, he is looking lovely and his tail does not stop wagging. Due to Jerome being a little shy boy, we would consider placing him with dog savvy children over the age of 10.
