Friends of Thringstone has been going now for over 16 years. We litter pick, we plant trees and shrubs and flowers and maintain 5 flower beds we have taken over from various other agencies, we clean graffiti, we produce history booklets, we put on events, we inform people about what is going on, we produce a quarterly newsletter which we deliver to every house n the village. We have won several a

wards inc. the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service, and in 2021, the Leics. Live Environmental Heroes Award. Our membership is £4 per year, and all are welcome. We also have a website which is www.friends-of-thringstone.org.uk Remember, community contains U.

Every Wednesday at Charles Booth Centre there is a coffee morning for people to get together, have a chat and enjoy each other's company. Starts at 10.30am for about an hour. All welcome to come along and meet other people.

With our Memorial Day for club stalwart Gary Mansfield fast approaching on Sunday 10th August, we’ll be holding a raffle in support of Parkinson’s.

There’ll be some great prizes up for grabs, so don’t forget to bring your cash and be in with a chance of winning – all while supporting a fantastic charity.

Following on from yesterday's post. A lot of local young lads go into the woods and onto the cricket pitch at night time. Some go to the cricket pitch to play football, others go when dark and aren't there for football practice. Someone must know who did this.

Sad to see that someone took the door off the scoring shed at Grace Dieu Park Cricket Club overnight, and tried to do something to the door of the pavilion. This is a small club run by a lot of volunteers. Shame on whoever did this.

From Grace Dieu Park Cricket Club - Volunteer Umpires Needed for Memorial Day Games – Sunday 10th August!
As we prepare for our Memorial Day games next Sunday, we’re looking for volunteers to assist with umpiring. Whether you're experienced or just keen to help out, your support would be greatly appreciated!
All umpires will receive a free tea as a thank-you.
If you're interested in helping out, please get in touch—we'd love to have you on board!
