POSCH is a charity based in North Yorkshire, covering Hambleton, Richmond and surrounding areas, run by a small group of volunteers. Our aim is to create a supportive, accessible and friendly community of parents and carers of children with additional needs, where everyone feels they have someone to turn to, but also to use our collective knowledge to help each other. Our volunteers are parents or
carers themselves, so we understand your struggles, as well as your achievements – the ups and the downs! We offer Parent and Carer Support groups across the region, in Northallerton, Richmond, Thirsk and Bedale. We aim to make our sessions accessible for everyone, so if you have any needs yourself, please don't hesitate to contact us to discuss them. Our sessions differ each time, but usually involve refreshments and a friendly chat, opportunities to talk to other parents and carers, and sometimes speakers from various organisations around health, education and social care, or crafting, well-being and other fun activities. We hope that as our community grows, we can all be there to help and support each other, to find solutions to problems, and sometimes just to be there to listen to each other without judgement. Please look at our Events section for all of our upcoming Parent and Carer support groups and training sessions.
