📚✨ BRING YOUR FAVOURITE BOOKS TO LIFE! ✨👜

We’re getting creative in the Community Works Maker Space for Bookmarked: Thirsk! 🎨📖

Join us for Tote Bags: Bringing Books to Life, where you’ll create your very own book-inspired tote bag to take home. 👜✨

We’ll have a brilliant selection of pre-cut book-themed designs ready for you to choose from — including characters, reading slogans, quotes and more!

Once you’ve picked your favourite, it’s over to you to w**d your design and apply it to your tote bag, with our team there to help you along the way. 🙌

A HUGE thank you, Thirsk! 💙

We want to say a massive thank you to everyone who supported Community Works through the Tesco Stronger Starts blue token scheme at Tesco Thirsk!

Thanks to your votes, we have received an incredible £1,500 grant! 🎉

Every blue token really did make a difference, and we are so grateful to our wonderful local community for getting behind us. Your support helps us continue the work we do for people across Thirsk and the surrounding area.

A huge thank you also to Tesco Thirsk for this fantastic opportunity and for supporting local community organisations. 💙

We want to say a very fond goodbye and a huge thank you to the wonderful Alice. 💗

Alice has been such a valued part of Community Works, and we are incredibly grateful for all of the kindness, hard work and support she has given during her time with us.

We’re very sad to see her go, but we wish her all the happiness and success in whatever comes next. You’ll be greatly missed by everyone here!

A huge THANK YOU to the wonderful Thirsk Yarnbombers visitors book 🧶❤️

We have recently received their final £1,000 donation to Community Works, following two years of incredibly generous fundraising and support for our charity. Their donations have made a real difference.

At a time when securing grant funding is becoming increasingly difficult, support like this helps Community Works continue to be here for local people when they need us most, whether that is through our Food Bank, dementia services, practical support through Key Work, or the many other ways we help people across Thirsk and the surrounding area.

The Yarn Bombers are probably best known for brightening up our town with their amazing creations, but over the last two years they have also helped support the people who live within it and we think that deserves celebrating. ❤️

Every donation to a small local charity matters. It helps keep services running, doors open and support available for people facing some of life's toughest moments. To everyone involved with Thirsk Yarn Bombers and all those who knit, crochet, create, organise, fundraise, donate and support - a massive thank you.

Your generosity has contributed to enabling Community Works continue to support our community, and we are enormously grateful for everything you have done for us. You don't just make Thirsk a brighter place, but you help make it a stronger one too. 🧶💛

Community Works is delighted to be partnering with Rural Arts and some fantastic organisations from across Thirsk to help bring this brilliant weekend of books, creativity and family fun to our town. 💙

From 11th–13th September, there’ll be 24 events happening across Thirsk, with something for everyone to discover, make, watch and enjoy! 🎨📖🎭

And you’ll find plenty happening here at Community Works too! 👀 Our Maker Space will be getting involved with some brilliant book-inspired creativity, and we can’t wait to welcome you through our doors.
