*LAST 635 VGS ANNUAL GUEST NIGHT – 2016* (NOT TO BE MISSED) – Saturday 27th August 2016 – Salmesbury Hotel (Preston)

An event not to be missed, 635’s Annual Guest Night is back for 2016 with a new venue!

This year we will be returning to our former home of Samlesbury! The Samlesbury Hotel will be hosting 635VGS staff and our guests for our final Annual guest night. Those who have been to our Guest Nights in the past will know of their calibre and will vouch for their entertainment value; so it would be great to see as many faces as we can pack in!

This being our final dinner before disbandment it will be a great chance to say a final goodbye to 635VGS In the only way we know how! We all want to give 635VGS the best send-off possible as well as thank those members throughout the years who have provided such a valuable service to the Air Cadet Organisation.

On March 10th 2016 it was announced that Gliding for UK Air Cadet Organization was being scaled back with heavy cuts to its locations and fleet. This will mean the opportunities for 12-18 year olds to take control of an aircraft and even to learn to fly solo will be severely curtailed.

Today we attended Cumbria and Lancashire's wing training day. Our aim was to promote the VGS and the courses we run. The day was a success with 10 potential SQNs signing up for our courses and interest from people wanting to join our staff.

Another successful weekend!
We hosted 11 cadets from Greater Manchester Wing (1196sqn) on another aviation activity weekend. A big thanks to the air Air Operations Acquaintance Centre for loaning their group exercise to us, the cadets enjoyed and learnt from the experience. Royal Air Force Air Cadets North Region Air Cadets
