The Lewis Moody Foundation

The Lewis Moody Foundation We know that together we can

Inspired by Joss Rowley Stark, The Lewis Moody Foundation is dedicated to funding support to improve lives, vital research to change lives and raising awareness to save lives. Tackling illness, fulfilling dreams
• The Lewis Moody Foundation supports young families facing a life threatening or serious illness.
• An estimated 20,000 children and young people in the UK are living with a life-threaten

ing condition.
• Our aim is to give families a day out of the ordinary to create lasting magical memories, giving them a boost of hope and strength to cope.
• The Lewis Moody Foundation also works with The Brain Tumour Charity. Brain tumours have a devastating effect on the entire family, which is why some of the proceeds from The Lewis Foundation are helping to fund world-class research into brain tumours to help defeat this cruel disease.
• Brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer of children and adults under 40, yet less than 2% of the £500 million spent on cancer research in the UK every year is allocated to brain tumours.
• Lewis and his wife Annie decided to set up The Lewis Moody Foundation after meeting Joss Rowley Stark, a promising young rugby player, who sadly lost his fight with cancer in April 2013 at the age of just 16. The time spent with Joss made a massive impact on Lewis' life and the happy memories made for Joss and his family were unmeasurable.
• Lewis Moody, is a former captain of the England rugby team and a member of the 2003 World Cup winning side.
• The Lewis Moody Foundation is administered by The Brain Tumour Charity, registered charity no 1150054 (England and Wales), SC042096 (Scotland).
• Lewis has been involved with a number of charities throughout his career and will continue to support them in addition to the Foundation.

Sahara Trek Day 5!! A huge congratulations to the team who have now completed their 100km trek! The final day saw them passing Acacia and Tamarisk trees as they made their way through the sand dunes. They then headed for the planes and the palm groves of the local nomadic villages, before ending in their final camp. Everyone at The Lewis Moody Foundation is immensely proud of the team and so thankful for their hard work across the last 5 days of trekking.

A huge thank you to anyone who has supported this week and donated so far. If you would still like to donate to Lewis and the team the link can be found below and in our bio:

Day 3 was a challenging day for the team, with 7 hours of trekking. They set off through a dramatic gorge and through two low flat bottomed valleys. It was then a spectacular climb over the Jebel El Mrakib with views of the surrounding planes, dunes and mountains! They then set off through the plateau to their camp for the evening which was exposed to the desert winds.
